Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets Betting Predictions

The Atlanta Braves are coming off a three-game series with the Rangers. Atlanta won game one, but dropped the next two. The Braves struggled to get anything going offensively with just seven runs scored throughout the series. The Bullpen has done their part, holding opponents to three runs or less in four of their last six games. The left-hander Max Fried is scheduled to take the mound Monday. Fried is 2-2 in four games this season with an ERA of 3.00 and has allowed 21 hits, eight earned runs, and struck out 21 batters in 24.0 innings.

The Mets are coming off a three-game series against the Phillies, taking game one and three. The Mets had their bats working during Sunday’s game, scoring ten runs. The bullpen has been great this season and ranks as one of the best in baseball. The right-hander Chris Bassitt is expected to get the start Monday. Bassitt is 3-1 in four games this season with an ERA of 2.25 and has allowed 15 hits, six earned runs, and struck out 26 batters in 24.0 innings of work.

I like the Mets in this matchup. New York is coming off a 10-run game against Philadelphia and that production should continue into Monday. Bassitt has been solid this season, as has the rest of the bullpen. Backing Mets MoneyLine here.

Atlanta Braves Betting Analysis

The Braves find themselves in fourth of the NL East and have gone 10-13 SU, 10-13 ATS, and have an O/U record of 11-11-1. The total has gone under in six of Atlanta’s last nine games on the road. The Braves are 3-2 in their last five games against the Mets and the total went under in three of those games.

Atlanta has not been able to get anything going offensively this season. As a team the Braves have a batting average of .227 (21st), on base percentage of .303 (20th), slugging percentage of .402 (7th), and have scored 89 runs (18th). The first baseman Matt Olson leads the team with a batting average of .291 (25-86), two home runs, and seven RBIs. The third baseman Austin Riley has been productive as well with a batting average of .274 (23-84), six home runs and 13 RBIs.

The Braves' bullpen has struggled this season. As a team they are allowing opponents a batting average of .228 (11th), have an ERA of 4.28 (23rd), and have given up 103 runs (26th). Left-handed pitcher Max Fried is scheduled to take the mound Monday. Fried is 2-2 in four games this season with an ERA of 3.00 and has allowed 21 hits, eight earned runs, and struck out 21 batters in 24.0 innings. In three games against the Mets last season Fried allowed 13 hits, five runs, and struck out 24 batters in 18.0 innings.

New York Mets Betting Analysis

After Sundays win over Philadelphia the Mets are 16-7 SU, 15-8 ATS, and have an O/U record of 8-12-3. The total has gone over in four of their last six games. Going against this trend, the total has gone under in three of their last five games against Atlanta. New York is 11-4 in their last 15 home games.

The Mets have had their bats working this season. As a team they have a batting average of .262 (2nd), on base percentage of .345 (1st), slugging percentage of .388 (9th), and have scored 108 runs (4th). The second baseman Jeff McNeil is coming off a three-hit game Sunday and has a batting average of .352 (25-71), one home run, and nine RBIs. Right fielder Starling Marte has done a nice job bringing in runs with a batting average of .224 (19-85), two home runs, and 15 RBIs.

New York’s bullpen has been excellent this season. As a team they are allowing opponents a batting average of .195 (2nd), have an ERA of .291 (3rd), and have given up 69 runs (3rd). The right-hander Chris Bassitt is expected to get the start Monday. Bassitt is 3-1 in four games this season with an ERA of 2.25 and has allowed 15 hits, six earned runs, and struck out 26 batters in 24.0 innings of work. Bassitt has not pitched against the Braves in his career.

Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets Betting Conclusion

The New York Mets have been one of the best teams in baseball this season while the Braves have struggled after winning the World Series last season. I like the Mets at home in this matchup. New York has been the much better team and that should show on Monday.
