After a somewhat surprising elimination from last year’s Play-In Tournament, Golden State stormed out to an excellent start to the new season – highlighted by the Warriors finishing October at a sturdy 5-1 mark, with their only loss across that span coming in a hard-fought battle against the Grizzles (L, 104-101 OT).

The Warriors’ hot start wasn’t just a flash in the pan either, considering Golden State enters Tuesday’s matchup boasting wins in six-of-seven games since the onset of November – which includes commanding victories over the Bulls, Hawks, and Pelicans.

On the other hand, Brooklyn posted a head-scratching 2-3 start to the season, as the Nets kicked off the year with a trio of double-digit losses to the Bucks, Hornets, and Heat – along with a pair of solid victories over the Sixers and Wizards to complete their first five contests.

Brooklyn quickly countered its slow start though, considering the Nets already enter Tuesday’s event following wins in eight of the last nine games – with Brooklyn’s only loss across that window coming on the second half of a back-to-back in Chicago (L, 118-95).

I’ll lay the points with the Nets here, as Brooklyn’s struggles typically come in matchups against deeper frontcourts that thrive on physicality in the paint like Milwaukee, Philadelphia, and Miami – but against run-and-gun squads like Golden State, I expect to see the Nets shine.

After getting eliminated from last year’s Play-In Tournament with heartbreaking losses to Lakers (L, 103- 100) and Grizzlies (L, 117-112 OT), Golden State claimed some temporary redemption to start the new season, as Warriors visited the Staples Center on opening night to face the Lakers – and cruised to a comfortable seven-point victory (W, 121-114).

Golden State has kept its revenge tour alive through November too, as the Warriors enter Tuesday’s event following wins in six of their last seven games. What’s even more impressive though, is how Golden State is winning these games, considering the Warriors currently lead the league in both scoring and effective field-goal percentage (115.1 PPG, 55.4% EFG).

Golden State naturally predicates its offensive attack around three-point shooting, which is ideal withSteph Curry running the point – but the Warriors haven’t necessarily yielded stellar numbers from long- range thus far, considering Golden State ranks just 12th in three-point percentage at 35.8% FG, while Brooklyn leads the league at 39.3% FG.
