Brooklyn Nets vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Predictions

After finishing 13th in the East with a record of 22-50 last year, Cleveland jumped out to a surprisingly solid start to the new season, as the Cavaliers posted wins in seven of their first 11 games – which included impressive upset victories over the Hawks, Clippers, Nuggets, and Blazers.

Over the last few weeks though, Cleveland’s health has been its biggest downfall, considering Collin Sexton and Evan Mobley are set to miss extensive periods with their respective injuries, while Lauri Markkanen and Jarrett Allen have also missed chunks of time due to illnesses – resulting in losses in four of the Cavs’ last six games.

On the other hand, Brooklyn stumbled out to an incredibly disappointing start to the new season, as the Nets kicked things off with losses in three of their first five games – despite being favored by a generous amount in two of those losses.

Since starting 2-3 though, Brooklyn has quickly turned things around, highlighted by the Nets entering Monday’s contest boasting wins in 10 of the last 12 games – with their only losses across that span coming in tough matchups against the Bulls and Warriors.

I’ll lay the points with Brooklyn here, as Cleveland has lost its last three games by an average of 10.3 PPG – and I envision a similar result against a Nets’ squad trending in the opposite direction.

Brooklyn Nets Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 12-5
  • ATS: 7-9-1
  • O/U: 7-10

After stumbling out to a head-scratching 2-3 start to the season, Brooklyn quickly flipped the script around Halloween weekend, as the Nets now enter Monday’s contest riding a sturdy 10-2 SU run. Brooklyn ranks just 12th in the league in overall scoring (108.4 PPG), but don’t be fooled by that relatively pedestrian number – the Nets are still one of the most efficient bunches in the league offensively, currently ranked 3rd in true shooting and effective field-goal percentage (114.8% TS, 54.2 % EFG).

Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 9-8
  • ATS: 10-5-2
  • O/U: 5-12

After a miserable 22-50 campaign last year, the Cavs’ flashed some signs of life to kick off their current campaign – as despite getting tagged as underdogs in 11 straight matchups to start this season, the Cavs’ cruised into mid-November sitting at impressive 7-4 SU and 8-3 ATS marks. Since the injuries to Sexton and Mobley though, Cleveland is 0-3 SU and ATS – with two of those losses coming by ugly double-digit margins.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Head-to-Head

The most recent matchup between these teams took place just five days ago, as Brooklyn seemingly cakewalked to a double-digit home victory over the Cavs’ this past Wednesday (W, 109-99) – despite hosting the Warriors in an ugly loss the night before (L, 117-99).

Key Players to Watch

  • BKN: Kevin Durant - PF (28.6 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 4.9 apg)
  • BKN: James Harden - SG (21.2 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 8.8 apg)
  • CLE: Darius Garland - PG (17.8 ppg, 6.5 apg)
  • CLE: Jarrett Allen - C (14.2 ppg, 10.9 rpg)

Brooklyn Nets vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Conclusion

After extending their losing streak to three games with a loss to the Warriors on Friday night, the Cavaliers will enter Monday’s affair as steep home underdogs against the visiting Nets – marking the third straight game Cleveland has been an underdog of nine points or more.

I’ll lay the points with Brooklyn here, as the Cavs’ have lost three straight games by an average of 10.3 PPG – and I doubt things will get any easier as they host Brooklyn on Monday night.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Trends

  • Brooklyn has won 10 of its last 12 games.
