Phoenix Suns vs. Brooklyn Nets Predictions

Both teams are red hot, but it’s the Suns who have found a way to beat everyone in their path. Phoenix has dominated opponents during this win streak but shouldn’t expect an easy win over the Nets. Brooklyn made a switch up front that can help counter DeAndre Ayton. The insertion of LaMarcus Aldridge in the starting lineup helped the Nets control the Celtics. The back court battles will play a huge impact on the game with Devin Booker and James Harden being the focus. The wild card remains Kevin Durant, and just how much he can take over the game, forcing Booker – or another Suns player to counter.

The Nets are riding a mini-streak of their own, looking to win their 5th straight game on Saturday night. While the Suns went from surviving to thriving on having multiple players finish in double figures, the Nets are just recently figured it out. We know the usual suspects up top, but this game could come down to the second units and how a team can hold any lead it gets. Chris Paul and Ayton have been fantastic compliments to Booker. The Nets will have to get a lot out of Patty Mills shooting and Harden scoring to help Durant. There will certainly be a lot of points scored with so much talent on the floor, so best to look at going over 219.

There isn’t much bad to look at when you’ve won 15 straight basketball games, and the Suns are no exception – rather the opposite. It’s been impressive to watch them put together this streak without having a dominant secondary scorer, but also seeing the bench blossom. The Suns saw Ayton return from a leg injury and put up monster numbers, right alongside Paul adding a double-double of his own. All of this behind Booker who continues to pace one of the best shooting offenses in the NBA.

The Nets job is to stop a team looking for its eighth straight road win of the season, 16th straight overall. Never an easy task but the Nets seem up for it. Brooklyn won four straight but only most recently in blowout fashion. They found ways to win despite it not always looking pretty. That’s a little different than the Suns who have nearly half – 7 of 15 – of their wins in the streak coming in double-digit fashion. Durant may go for 50 against the Suns, but he’s going to need help from Mills and Aldridge more than anyone else outside of Harden. Brooklyn will score, just not enough to win the game.
