Portland Trail Blazers vs. Golden State Warriors Predictions

The Blazers have dropped three straight, the latest game coming without either of their dynamic backcourt playing. They have that similar problem – and possibly no Anfernee Simons either. The Blazers only average 108.7 PPG as a team and could be down a combined 54 PPG if all three sit.

Even if Simons plays, what can the Blazers truly do to slow down one of the best two- way teams in the NBA – if not the best. Steph Curry has his sights set on passing Ray Allen as the all-time 3-point champ, not backups on the Blazers. Portland has zero shot in winning this game, they have little shot in keeping this close.

While everyone is focusing on the amazing offensive product that is the Curry brand,Draymond Green is leading the league’s best scoring defense. The Blazers don’t have their top two point producers and will be relying on bench players, which is a terrible combination for any game against the Warriors. Green and Kevon Looney will do enough to physically grind Jusuf Nurkic to a halt. This game has blowout written all over it.

The Blazers season is defined by injury and drama. The two biggest pieces of news in the NBA on Tuesday had to do with Portland; the horrible lung injury to McCollum and Lillard trade/extension drama.

It’s having a serious impact on the floor, especially with other key players going down like Simons. The Blazers have a better shot of trading for then starting Ben Simmons on Wednesday night than they do beating the Warriors. It’s just a culmination of bad basketball and lack of any star power for Portland.

Golden State is not dealing with anything but a matter of when Curry breaks Allen’s record. They are the 3rd-best scoring offense and give up less points than anyone else in the NBA. They have one of the most prolific scorers in the game in Curry, and the defensive player of the year in Green.

The team has won eight of ten and one of those losses came to the Suns. Phoenix will provide the necessary incentive to keep Golden State playing in games to avoid falling behind in the division.
