Brooklyn Nets vs. Atlanta Hawks Predictions

The Nets planned to sit both Kevin Durant and Harden, so having a healthy top end of the roster shouldn’t be any issue. Unlike Atlanta who has been missing both Bogdan Bogdanovic and Cam Reddish for the past four games. Durant has been on a tear and should do just that to Atlanta’s defense, tear right into them.

To be fair nobody has slowed down Durant, but Collins and Clint Capela aren’t going to stop Durant. The difficulty Atlanta will have is in the backcourt, trying to slow down James Harden while keeping up with his productivity.

The Hawks do have Trae Young, it’s just so much weight on his shoulders to play his team to a win. Atlanta has just been so reliant upon Young and his scoring, that if Brooklyn slows Young down – more realistic than Young missing every shot – it could get ugly for the Hawks.

They just need more firepower from a second option, which is just John Collins at this point and his 17 PPG. Atlanta’s depth will be tested but it’s just that, depth versus two guys in Brooklyn who average a combined 49+ PPG.

Brooklyn won six straight on the road before a planned night of rest forced a loss to Houston. But this is still the dominant team on the road led by two of the game’s most prolific scorers, in Durant and Harden.

The Nets supporting cast is not absent either, as LaMarcus Aldridge and Patty Mills have stepped up providing scoring support – especially in the absence of Joe Harrisfor a stretch. Coming off a planned nigh of rest, the Nets team should be fully charged and come out firing in the first half. Might be worth a look at the Nets 1 st half-line if you are taking the game itself.

The Hawks have dropped three of their last five, felling the impact of not having Bogdanovic nor Reddish available. While they are expecting at least Reddish to play against Brooklyn, the Hawks have seen recent spike performances by both Danilo Gallinari and Timothe Luwawu- Cabarrot.

It’s been the biggest struggle for Atlanta recently and consistency off the bench will be tested again with the Nets in town. Atlanta does have the seventh-highest scoring average in the league, so they have it in them to at least hang with the Nets in a shootout.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Atlanta Hawks Betting Conclusion

It’s hard to ignore the injuries to Atlanta versus the return of a healthy and rested duo of Harden and Durant. Atlanta has a couple of bad trends following them recently, and they add up to another loss against the healthy Nets.

The Hawks are 1-8 in their last 9 SU versus teams with a winning record. They have also seen the road team cover in eight straight games. Not great going up against a Nets team that’s won 6 of their last 7 on away from BK.

  • Atlanta has seen the road team cover the spread in eight straight games.
