Golden State Warriors vs. Philadelphia 76ers Predictions

The 76ers were severely short-handed when they faced the Warriors earlier this season. They also were on the road. Yet, despite being on the road and playing without the likes of Tobias Harris, Ben Simmons or Joel Emibiid, the 76ers took a 61-52 lead into halftime.

While they couldn't keep it up in the second half, things are different this time. This time, the 76ers are at home, where the crowd can keep them energized the whole way. Simmons remains out but Harris and Embiid are back. Needless to say, that's a huge difference. Both teams, for various reasons, struggle to cover the spread inside Wells Fargo - so search playing the combined O/U record of 16-33-2 and take the UNDER as the safest bet.

Golden State Warriors Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 21-4
  • ATS: 17-7-1
  • O/U: 7-17-1

The Warriors won here last season (No Harris or Simmons for Philly), but they've long had trouble here. They're just 3-11 ATS their last 14 visits here, so Golden State isn't a sure lock as it might seem on paper tonight. The Warriors take their NBA best 21-4 record on the road to the City of Brotherly Love and ironically Curry will be facing his brother Seth Curry as he chases down history and become the NBA all time leader in three pointers. The Warriors are 7-2 on the road while Philly just 5-6 at home.

Philadelphia 76ers Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 14-12
  • ATS: 3-8
  • O/U: 9-16-1

Not only does Embiid dominate but he gets the other team in foul trouble. Steve Kerr said this of Embiid, "Playing against Joel is like going into a time machine. It's like playing against Patrick Ewing or Shaq or Hakeem Olajuwon, it's a low post-game. He will step out and shoot 3s and run some DHOs and he's good with that, but he's one of the few guys in the league now who can dominate a game from the low block and they've done a great job with their roster."

Embiid will have to dominate the entire game for a Sixers victory here, but its very possible along with the sluggish results Golden State has seen inside Wells Fargo over time. The Sixers, however, are sluggish inside Wells Fargo as well with just a 3-8 ATS home record this season.

Golden State Warriors vs. Philadelphia 76ers Head-to-Head

Golden State has won three of the last four meetings, taking the last encounter on Nov. 24 by the final score of 116-96. Keep in mind that the Sixers were missing most players for that battle, but the Sixers last beat Golden State Mar. 23, 2021. The point total has gone UNDER in three straight encounters.

Key Players to Watch

  • GSW: Steph Curry - G (27.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 6.3 apg)
  • GSW: Andrew Wiggins - F (18.5 ppg, 4.4 rpg)
  • PHI: Joel Embiid - C (24.1 ppg, 10.9 rpg, 4.2 apg)
  • PHI: Tyrese Maxey - G (16.5 ppg, 4.7 apg)

Golden State Warriors vs. Philadelphia 76ers Betting Conclusion

The smart odds point to the point total market, as both clubs have gone UNDER a lot this season (33 times combined). Both teams have been struggling to cover the spread in Philadelphia, the Sixers recently and the Warriors historically. The Warriors should win this game but the Sixers can pull off the upset here. Stick to the smart odds which point to the total going UNDER - or if you want to have some real fun take a Steph Curry 3-point prop bet and watch one of the greatest shooters chase history.
