Golden State Warriors vs. New York Knicks Predictions

After finishing fourth in the East with a record of 41-31 last year, New York briefly kept that momentum going with an excellent start to this season, as the Knicks kicked things off with wins in five of their first six games – which included solid victories over the Sixers, Celtics, and Bucks.

The Knicks have played awful since their 5-1 start though, as New York enters Tuesday’s contest following losses riding a head-scratching 7-14 SU and ATS skid – with nearly half of those defeats coming by nine points or more.

On the other hand, Golden State also jumped out to an excellent start to the new season, as the Warriors wrapped up the month of November at an impressive 18-3 SU mark – with 14 of those victories coming by a double-digit margin.

The opening days of December have been a little shaky for Golden State though, considering the Warriors enter Tuesday’s contest riding a relatively mediocre 4-2 SU run – despite being favored in all five of those contests.

I’ll lay the points with Golden State here, as the Knicks have been awful offensively across their latest five-game stretch, having scored 102 PTS or less in four of the last five games (101.2 PPG) – which typically isn’t enough to keep up with the Warriors’ third-ranked scoring attack (112.5 PPG, 55.8% EFG).

Golden State Warriors Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 21-5
  • ATS: 17-8-1
  • O/U: 7-18-1

After finishing ninth in the West with a record of 39-33 last year, Golden State jumped out so a surprisingly stellar start to the new season, as the Warriors opened with wins in 18 of their first 20 games.

The Warriors have looked somewhat pedestrian since their impressive 18-2 start though, considering Golden State enters Tuesday’s contest riding a bumpy 3-3 stretch – while averaging just 107.3 PPG across that span.

New York Knicks Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 12-15
  • ATS: 11-16
  • O/U: 12-15

New York’s overwhelming success might have come as the league’s biggest surprise last season, as the Knicks finished fourth in the East with an impressive tally of 41-31 – earning much-needed home-court advantage over Atlanta in the opening round of the playoffs.

Unfortunately, the Knicks’ valiant regular-season effort didn’t blossom into anything noteworthy, considering New York was completely outmatched by the Hawks at both ends of the floor in the opening round.

The Knicks have been outmatched by nearly everybody as of late though, as New York enters Tuesday’s affair following losses in six of the last seven games (1-6 SU, 2-5 ATS) – while averaging just 104.2 PPG across that window.

Golden State Warriors vs. New York Knicks Head-to-Head

The Warriors and Knicks split a two-game regular season set last year, with each team picking up a victory on the opposing team’s home floor. Both of last year’s matchups went over the total set for Tuesday’s affair at an average of 221.5 PPG.

Key Players to Watch

  • GSW: Steph Curry - PG (27.1 PPG, 5.6 REB, 6.3 AST)
  • GSW: Andrew Wiggins - SF (18.5 PPG, 4.4 REB, 1.8 AST)
  • NYK: Julius Randle - PF (19.5 PPG, 10.2 REB, 5.4 AST)
  • NYK: RJ Barrett - SG (17.4 PPG, 3.6 REB, 2.1 AST)

Golden State Warriors vs. New York Knicks Betting Conclusion

After dropping a third straight game on Sunday night, the Knicks enter Tuesday’s contest as narrow home underdogs against the visiting Warriors – marking the fourth straight game New York has been an underdog in.

I’ll lay the points with Golden State here, as despite the Warriors’ latest rough patch (3-3 SU), they are still the Western Conference’s most dangerous offensive squad – and should still beat the Knicks with relative ease on short rest.
