Denver Nuggets vs. Golden State Warriors Predictions

After finishing third in the West with a record of 47-25 last year, Denver kicked off the new season on an incredibly encouraging note, as the Nuggets opened with a solid 9-4 SU and 7-6 ATS run – which included impressive upset victories over the Suns (-6), Jazz (-7), Grizzlies (-1), and Heat (-2).

The Nuggets have looked like a shell of that team since their opening stretch though, considering Denver is just 7-12 SU and 6-13 ATS across the last 19 games – despite being favored in nine of those contests.

On the other hand, Golden State jumped out to an excellent start to this season, as the Warriors wrapped up the month of November at an impressive 18-3 SU and 15-5-1 ATS mark – with 14 of those victories coming by a double-digit margin.

December has been relatively shaky for the Warriors though, considering Golden State is just 9-4 SU and 6-6-1 ATS across the last 13 games – despite being favored in all but two of those contests.

I’ll lay the points with the Warriors here, as Denver sits at just 2-3 SU and 1-4 ATS across the last five games, while averaging just 108.8 PPG during that span – while Golden State is seemingly back on track already, sitting at 5-1 SU and 4-1-1 across their last six.

Denver Nuggets Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 16-16
  • ATS: 13-19
  • O/U: 17-15

Following Jamal Murray’s devastating knee injury last year, heightened expectations regarding the Nuggets quickly vanished, as despite finishing third in the conference, Denver (-120) ventured into the first round of the playoffs narrowly favored over the sixth-seeded Blazers (+100).

Denver prevailed through that series without Murray though, and then played well to open this season – but clearly, we should expect far less from the Nuggets when additional pieces are missing such as Michael Porter Jr., Aaron Gordon, and P.J. Dozier, considering Denver has scored 107 PTS or less in four-of-five matchups across their current 1-4 ATS stretch.

Golden State Warriors Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 27-6
  • ATS: 21-10-2
  • O/U: 11-21-1

After finishing ninth in the West with a record of 39-33 SU last year, Golden State stormed out to a surprisingly triumphant start to the season, as the Warriors opened with wins in 18-of-20 games – with their only two losses across that span coming by slim margins of four points or less.

Golden State has been slightly less dominant as of late though, considering the Warriors enter Tuesday just 9-4 SU and 6-6-1 ATS across the last 13 games – with their four SU losses coming by a hefty deficit of 10.25 PPG.

(AP) The Warriors are 5-1 SU and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games.

Denver Nuggets vs. Golden State Warriors Head-to-Head

The Warriors won two-of-three regular-season matchups against Denver last year, with the first two matchups going over the total set for Tuesday’s affair at an average of 220.5 PPG – while the finale stayed just under with a score of 118-97.

Key Players to Watch

  • DEN: Nikola Jokic - C (25.9 PPG, 13.8 REB, 7.2 AST)
  • DEN: Will Barton - SF (15.1 PPG, 5.2 REB, 4 AST)
  • GSW: Steph Curry - PG (27.9 PPG, 5.3 REB, 5.9 AST)
  • GSW: Draymond Green - PF (8.4 PPG, 7.9 REB, 7.5 AST)

Denver Nuggets vs. Golden State Warriors Betting Conclusion

After posting an impressive upset victory in Phoenix on Christmas Day (W, 116-107), the Warriors enter Tuesday’s contest as generous home favorites over the visiting Nuggets – marking just the second time Denver has been an underdog across the last eight games.

I’ll lay the points with Golden State here, as despite their relatively pedestrian recent stretch, the Warriors still rank fourth in offensive efficiency and second in effective field-goal percentage (1.094 OE, 55.9% EFG) – which should be more than enough to topple a short-handed Nuggets’ squad on Tuesday night.
