BROOKLYN NETS VS. CHICAGO BULLS PREDICTIONS

After finishing 11th in the East with a record of 31-41 SU last year, Chicago jumped out to a much-improved start to this season, as the Bulls opened with a solid 12-5 SU and ATS run – despite getting tagged as underdogs in eight of those matchups.

The Bulls have kept that same ball rolling through January too, considering Chicago enters Wednesday sitting at 15-6 SU and 11-10 ATS across the last 21 games – ranking 1st in the East SU with a record of 27-11 overall, and 3rd ATS with a record of 23-15.

On the other hand, Brooklyn posted a surprisingly slow start to the season, as the Nets kicked things off with a lackluster 7-4 SU and 5-6 ATS skid – with all four of those SU losses coming in matchups they were favored in.

The Nets have settled into a bit of a rhythm since their opening stretch though, yet still struggle miserably ATS, considering Brooklyn sits at 18-10 SU and 10-18 ATS across the last 28 games – which ranks them 2nd in the East SU with a record of 25-14, and dead-last ATS with a record of 14-24-1.

I’ll back the Nets here, as I expect a maxed-out road performance from Brooklyn with Kyrie Irving well-rested and back on the floor, especially after dropping their first two matchups of the season against Chicago – which will likely be an uphill battle for a Bulls squad playing on the second half of a back-to-back.

BROOKLYN NETS BETTING ANALYSIS

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 25-14
  • ATS: 15-24
  • O/U: 18-21

After stumbling out to a surprisingly pedestrian start to the season (7-4 SU, 5-6 ATS), Brooklyn quickly found its groove during the early stages of November, as the Nets now boast an impressive record of 25-14 SU – yet still rank near the bottom of the barrel ATS at 14-24-1.

This year’s Nets squad is far more balanced than previous units though, considering Brooklyn ranks just 13th in offensive efficiency compared to 10th in defensive efficiency (1.073 OE, 1.050 DE) – but those offensive numbers should slowly begin to climb with Kyrie’s integration back into the lineup.

CHICAGO BULLS BETTING ANALYSIS

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 27-11
  • ATS: 23-15
  • O/U: 19-19

After last year’s underwhelming 11th place finish, Chicago went out and made some aggressive acquisitions during the offseason, which resulted in this fully revamped Bulls squad – as Zach Lavine now finds himself partnered up with a stout supporting cast that consists of DeMar DeRozan, Lonzo Ball, Nikola Vucevic, Alex Caruso and other crucial counterparts.

The Bulls’ new roster construction still contains flaws, but they’re certainly heading in the right direction, considering Chicago currently paces the Eastern Conference with a record of 27-11 SU – while ranking 4th in offensive efficiency and 14th in defensive efficiency across the entire league (1.094 OE, 1.060 DE).

The Nets are 2-8 ATS in their last ten games. (AP)

BROOKLYN NETS VS. CHICAGO BULLS HEAD-TO-HEAD

Chicago is 2-0 SU and ATS against Brooklyn so far this season, highlighted by the Bulls running away with a blowout win at home in their first matchup (118-95) – and escaping with a narrow victory at Barclays Center in the second (111-107).

KEY PLAYERS TO WATCH

  • BKN: Kevin Durant - SF (29.8 PPG, 7.7 REB, 5.8 AST)
  • BKN: Kyrie Irving - PG (22 PPG, 5.5 REB, 4 AST)
  • CHI: DeMar DeRozan - SF (26.4 PPG, 5 REB, 4.7 AST)
  • CHI: Zach LaVine - SG (26.2 PPG, 4.9 REB, 4.1 AST)

BROOKLYN NETS VS. CHICAGO BULLS BETTING CONCLUSION

After having a nine-game win streak snapped in Dallas on Sunday night (L, 113-93), the Bulls enter Wednesday’s contest as narrow home underdogs against the visiting Nets – marking just the second time Chicago has been an underdog across the last 13 games.

I’ll back Brooklyn on the road here, as despite the Nets sitting at 2-5 SU and 0-7 ATS across their last seven games, Irving’s addition to the lineup should provide them with an enormous boost heading into a grudge match against a Bulls squad that will be playing with a rest disadvantage.

BROOKLYN NETS VS. CHICAGO BULLS BETTING TRENDS

  • The Bulls are 10-1 SU in their last 11 games.
  • The Nets are 2-8 ATS in their last ten games.
  • The Bulls are 2-4 ATS in their last six games.
  • The total has gone UNDER in four of the last five Bulls' games.
