After finishing eighth in the West with a record of 38-34 SU last year, Memphis kept that same ball rolling with a similarly pedestrian start to this season, as the Grizzlies opened with a lackluster 9-10 SU and 10-9 ATS stretch – with nine of those losses coming by 10+ PTS.

The Grizzlies have played phenomenal since their opening stretch though, considering Memphis sits at 21-4 SU and 19-6 ATS across the last 25 games – despite getting tagged as underdogs in 12 of those contests.

On the other hand, Dallas stormed out to a strong start to the season, as the Mavericks kicked things off with a solid 9-4 SU run – although those wins didn’t come particularly easy, considering Dallas went just 5-8 ATS across that timeframe.

Health issues quickly caught up with the Mavericks in December though, considering Dallas enters Friday’s matchup sitting at 13-15 SU across the last 28 games – with six of those losses coming in matchups they were favored in.

I’ll lay the points with Memphis here, as the Grizzlies are 11-0 SU and 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games, while averaging 117.5 PPG across that timeframe – setting the stage for a tough road matchup for a Mavericks squad averaging just 104.2 PPG across six matchups since the New Year.

Dallas is a very dangerous offensive squad when Luka Doncic is present, but clearly, the two-time All-Pro can’t single-handedly carry his team to elite stature, considering Dallas ranks 25th in scoring and 18th in offensive efficiency (105.3 PPG, 1.064 OE) – which is inexcusable for a squad with such a gifted player at the helm.

MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES BETTING ANALYSIS

After posting an underwhelming start to the season (9-10 SU, 10-9 ATS), Memphis briefly escaped the league’s radar, as the Grizzlies ended up getting tagged as underdogs in seven-of-ten matchups in mid-December – yet posted a sturdy record of 6-4 SU across that timeframe.

The Grizzlies have been the hottest team in basketball since that point though, considering Memphis boasts impressive records of 20-4 SU and 18-6 ATS across the last 24 games – despite getting tagged as underdogs in ten of those affairs.

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS VS. CHICAGO BULLS HEAD-TO-HEAD

Dallas won two-of-three regular-season matchups against Memphis last year, with the first matchup staying under the total at a score of 102-92 – while the following two soared over at an average of 232 PPG.

The Grizzlies and Mavericks split their first two matchups of this season, with both of those matchups staying comfortably under the total at an average of 193.5 PPG.

After having a six-game win streak snapped by the Knicks on Wednesday night, the Mavericks enter Friday’s contest as narrow road underdogs against the Grizzlies at FedExForum – marking just the second time Dallas has been an underdog across the last nine games.

I’ll back Memphis at home here, as despite playing on the second half of a back-to-back, the Grizzlies are 11-0 SU and 10-1 ATS across their last 11 games, while averaging 117.5 PPG during that span – and I doubt Dallas will be able to match that level of offensive production in Friday night's matchup.
