After finishing fifth in the East with a record of 41-31 SU last year, Atlanta kept that same ball rolling with a similarly pedestrian start to this season, as the Grizzlies opened with a moderate 11-9 SU and 9-11 ATS stretch – despite getting tagged as favorites in 13 of those matchups.

Health issues quickly caught up with the Hawks in December though, considering Atlanta is just 6-16 SU and ATS across the last 22 games – with 11 of those SU losses coming in matchups they were favored in.

On the other hand, Milwaukee stumbled out to a slightly discouraging start to the year, as the Bucks kicked things off with a lackluster 6-8 SU and ATS skid – with four of those SU losses coming in matchups they were favored in.

Milwaukee has played quietly solid basketball since their opening stretch though, considering the Bucks enter Monday sitting at 21-10 SU across the last 31 games – despite sitting just 14-17 ATS during that timeframe.

I’ll lay the points with Milwaukee here, as Atlanta has really struggled as of late, currently sitting at 1-5 SU and ATS across the last six games, while averaging just 106 PPG during that timeframe – setting the stage for a tough matchup against a Bucks squad averaging 114.7 PPG across their latest 12-game window.

Atlanta quickly reverts to mediocrity without its core group on the floor though, considering the Hawks enter Friday riding a rocky 6-16 SU skid – which includes discouraging losses to the Magic, Rockets, Hornets, and Knicks.
