After finishing seventh in the East with a record of 36-36 SU last year, the Celtics stumbled out to a surprisingly poor start to this season, as Boston opened with a lackluster 15-20 SU and ATS skid – with ten of those SU losses coming by double-digits.

Boston has played excellent at both ends since the start of January though, considering the Celtics enter Tuesday’s contest riding a sturdy 14-6 SU run – while averaging 109 PPG offensively and surrendering just 98.8 PPG defensively across that window.

On the other hand, Brooklyn absolutely dominated to start the season, as the Nets kicked things off with a sturdy 26-14 SU run – with 15 of those victories coming by eight points or more.

The last few weeks have been incredibly shaky without Kevin Durant though, considering Brooklyn is averaging just 110.7 PPG at home and 110.2 PPG on the road across their latest 3-10 SU skid – primarily stemming from the inconsistent participation of Kyrie Irving and James Harden.

I’ll back Boston here, as the Celtics are 7-1 SU and 5-3 ATS across their last eight games, while averaging a sturdy 112 PPG offensively during that timeframe – likely presenting a steep uphill battle for a short-handed Nets squad that’s averaging just 107 PPG at home across their current eight-game losing streak.

Brooklyn’s struggles have quickly amplified since KD’s latest injury though, considering the Nets are just 3-10 SU across their last 13 games, which includes a 2-7 SU tally in road matchups with Irving – and a 1-3 SU mark in home matchups without him.
