BROOKLYN NETS VS. NEW YORK KNICKS PREDICTIONS

After finishing fourth in the East with a record of 41-31 SU last year, New York briefly kept that same ball rolling with another strong start to this season, as the Knicks opened with a sturdy 11-9 SU and 9-11 ATS run– which included tough victories over the Sixers (2), Bucks, Hawks, Bulls, and Lakers.

The Knicks have looked like a shell of that squad since late November though, considering New York is just 14-24 SU across their last 38 games – despite getting tagged as favorites in 17 of those contests.

On the other hand, Brooklyn stormed out to a triumphant start to the year, as the Nets kicked things off with an impressive 26-14 SU run – with 15 of those victories coming by eight points or more.

The last few weeks have been incredibly shaky without Kevin Durant though, considering the Nets are averaging just 110.6 OPPG at home and 109.1 OPPG on the road across their latest 4-13 SU skid – primarily stemming from the inconsistent participation of Kyrie Irving.

I’ll back New York at home here, as despite the Knicks averaging just 110.4 OPPG across their latest 2-8 SU stretch, they still get my vote of confidence against a Nets squad that’s riding a rocky 1-11 SU and 3-8-1 ATS skid – and won’t have Irving available due to New York health mandates.

BROOKLYN NETS BETTING ANALYSIS

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 30-27
  • ATS: 22-33-2
  • O/U: 27-29-1

After stumbling out to a frustrating 2-3 SU to the year, the Nets quickly settled into a rhythm during the early stages of November, as Brooklyn cruised into January with a record of 26-14 SU – yet still ranked near the bottom of the barrel ATS at 17-22-1.

The Nets have played awful since KD’s latest injury though, considering Brooklyn sits just 4-13 SU across their last 17 games, which includes a 2-9 SU tally in road matchups with Kyrie – and a 1-5 SU mark in home matchups without him.

NEW YORK KNICKS BETTING ANALYSIS

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 25-33
  • ATS: 26-32
  • O/U: 27-31

New York seemingly caught the East by surprise last season, as the Knicks finished fourth in the East with an impressive tally of 41-31 SU – before inevitably getting outmatched from top to bottom by the Hawks in the first round of the playoffs.

The Knicks haven’t caught anybody off guard this year though, considering New York ranks 12th in the East straight-up with a record of 25-33 SU, and 10th against the spread with a record of 26-32 ATS – despite getting tagged as favorites in 31 matchups so far this season.

The Knicks are 7-1 ATS in their last eight matchups against Brooklyn. (AP)

BROOKLYN NETS VS. NEW YORK KNICKS HEAD-TO-HEAD

The Nets swept a three-game regular-season set against New York last year, with all three matchups soaring over the total at an average of 226.7 PPG. The most recent meeting between these teams took place back in November of this season though, which resulted in another high-scoring victory for Brooklyn (112-110).

KEY PLAYERS TO WATCH

  • BKN: Seth Curry - SG (15.2 PPG, 3.4 REB, 4 AST)
  • BKN: Patty Mills - PG (13.3 PPG, 2.2 REB, 2.6 AST)
  • NYK: Julius Randle - PF (19.6 PPG, 10.2 REB, 5.3 AST)
  • NYK: RJ Barrett - SG (18 PPG, 5.7 REB, 2.6 AST)

BROOKLYN NETS VS. NEW YORK KNICKS BETTING CONCLUSION

After snapping an 11-game losing streak with a win over the Kings on Monday night (109-85), the Nets will travel across town for Wednesday’s contest as six-point road underdogs against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden – marking the seventh straight game Brooklyn has been an underdog in.

I’ll back New York at home here, as the Nets are 1-10 SU across their last 11 games, while averaging just 105.5 OPPG during that timeframe – setting the stage for a tough road matchup against a Knicks squad that’s scored 115+ PTS in four of their last six contests (112.7 OPPG).
