Jaden Ivey (DET) Over 4.5 Assists (-135) vs. CHA

The Pistons are one of the worst teams in basketball, currently stationed dead-last in the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 13-39, but to cut them some slack, they’re also one of the youngest squads in the league, and their rookies are finally beginning to step into a larger role, and none more so than Jaden Ivey as of late.

Ivey has averaged 16 PTS, 4.3 REB, and 6.1 AST across the Pistons’ last 11 games, however, the best value proposition on the board heading into this matchup appears to lie with Ivey’s assists line.

In his most recent outing, Ivey recorded just three assists across 21 minutes of action in a 111-105 loss to Dallas. But prior to that affair, Ivey had recorded 5+ assists in nine of the Pistons' last 11 contests, with five of those performances ringing in at 6+ assists.

So, I’ll back Ivey to bounce back in the passing department in Friday’s matchup against a Hornets squad that currently ranks 27th in defensive rating and 7th in pace (116.2 DRtg, 101.6 PACE).

Philadelphia 76ers -10 (-110) @ SAS

Speaking of some of the worst teams in basketball, the Spurs host Philly as huge double-digit underdogs tonight, and quite frankly, San Antonio is playing much worse than the rest of the squads near the bottom of the league totem pole at the moment.

The Spurs are 2-15 in their last 17 games, and it doesn’t seem like they intend on turning the ship around anytime soon, considering they rank dead-last in the league in net rating by a comfortable gap since New Year’s Eve, and they’ve now lost six straight games by a margin of 9+ points.

Joel Embiid is listed as questionable for Philly tonight. However, regardless of his presence, the Sixers are now 13-4 in their last 17 games, while ranking 6th in the league in net rating during that stretch (NetRtg +4.1).

So, I’ll back Philly to handle business with relative ease in tonight’s road matchup against a Spurs squad that’s now dropped nine of their last 12 contests by a distant margin of 8+ points.

Hawks-Jazz Over 241.5 (-110)

Neither of these squads are particularly good, but their style of play is very similar, highlighted by the Hawks and Jazz both ranking Top 12 in offensive rating and Bottom 12 in defensive rating, but under the right circumstances, these teams are capable of partaking in some real high-scoring doozies, and there’s a good chance that’s how this one turns out.

Atlanta and Utah both wield enough firepower to upset anybody on any given night, and sometimes, the best defense truly is good offense. However, these teams take that notion to a whole new level. The Hawks have combined with their opponents for a lofty average of 243 PPG in their last nine contests, and similarly, the Jazz have averaged a combined 236 PPG across their last seven.

So, I’ll take the ‘over’ in tonight’s matchup between a pair of league bottom-dwellers that have both cleared the 120-point scoring mark in three of their last four games.
