Let's dive deeper into the mechanics of how the BetMGM first bet on the house works.

Back to the Chiefs example from the top. If you bet them to win the Super Bowl with your $100 deposit and they win, you keep the profit ($600) and your initial stake ($100) and the promo is effectively over. You've got $700 in your account you're now free to withdraw that cash, or continue betting it.

If the Chiefs lose, you'll get $100 back in bonus bets. BetMGM splits up the bonus bets in different increments depending on how much you're getting back -- in this case, you'll get five, $20 bonus bets.

So how do those bonus bets work? You keep any profit from them, but not the bonus bet itself.

So let's take a $20 bonus bet in this hypothetical and put it on the Lakers to beat the Heat in a regular season matchup, with L.A. priced at +150.

• If the Lakers win, you'll profit $30 ($20 x 1.5) but don't keep the $20 bonus bet. So you'll have $30 cash in your account, plus $80 in bonus bets.
• If the Lakers lose, your bonus bet just goes away, and you'll have $80 in bonus bets remaining.
