UPDATE 7 P.M. ET FRIDAY: The Saints hit BetMGM's NFL odds Week 2 market at -2.5 (-115) and spent pretty much all week at various iterations of -3. The juice has been as low as -105 and as high -120, and the Saints are now -3 flat.

New Orleans is taking 62% of spread bets, but 55% of spread cash is on underdog Carolina.

BetMGM opened the total at 40.5, peaked at 41 and bottomed out twice at 39.5, where the number sits now. The Under is getting 66% of early bets, while 74% of early cash is on the Over.

UPDATE 11 P.M. ET SUNDAY: It wasn't pretty, but New Orleans (1-0 SU/0-1 ATS) edged Tennessee 16-15 as a 3-point home fave. Carolina (0-1 SU and ATS) was a 3.5-point road pup and lost to Atlanta 24-10.

The Saints-Panthers line has already inched up to New Orleans -3 in The SuperBook's NFL odds Week 2 market. The total backed up a half-point to 40.5.

Saints vs Panthers Pick, Prediction

Action Network NFL betting expert Brandon Anderson offers this prediction:

There are two concurrent Monday night games this week. You're allowed to watch the other one.

The Saints are the NFC South favorite by default but need to prove they deserve that status. They barely escaped Week 1 with a one-point win, and Derek Carr (36%) and Dennis Allen (31%) both have abysmal ATS records as favorites.

Several Week 2 trends are in Carolina's favor too, with teams coming off a double-digit loss 36-18-3 ATS (67%) against all others over the past decade. Three points is already too many, but you might want to wait til Monday to see if you can snag a +3.5 before kickoff.
