2022 ARIZONA CARDINALS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

After jumping out to a red-hot 10-2 SU and 9-3 ATS start last season, Arizona completely fell apart down the homestretch of the year, considering the Cardinals wrapped up the regular season with a frustrating 1-4 SU skid, which included SU losses to the Lions, Colts, and Seahawks.

The Cardinals still reached the postseason by securing the top NFC Wild Card spot with a record of 11-6 SU, but Arizona ultimately usurped a similar fate in the opening round of the playoffs, considering the Rams stomped them by 23 PTS on Wild Card Weekend (L, 34-11).

Former first overall pick Kyler Murray prepares for his fourth season under center with the team, however, Arizona possesses a much different outlook to kick off the year, considering the Cardinals lost Chase Edmonds, Chandler Jones, Jordan Hicks, and Christian Kirk in free agency during the offseason; while five-time Pro-Bowler DeAndre Hopkins landed a six-game suspension due to PED’s.

It's not all doom and gloom for Arizona though, considering the Cardinals re-signed Zach Ertz and James Conner to respective three-year deals; and recently acquired Marquise Brown from Baltimore, which should significantly lessen the blow from Hopkins’ absence in the passing game.

WIN TOTAL ODDS

  • Over 8.5 (-115)
  • Under 8.5 (-105)

Arizona’s season could unfold in a multitude of ways this time around, but the Cardinals rank considerably lower on the league totem pole than other proven squads in the division such as the Rams (+140) and Niners (+190), which is where they belong; however, over 8.5 wins is a tempting play for a squad that won 11 games last year, and arguably could’ve had a few more if things panned out in their head-scratching losses to the Lions and Panthers.

ARIZONA CARDINALS ODDS TO WIN NFC WEST

+300

Arizona was the last undefeated team left on the board near the halfway point of last season, as the Cardinals stormed out to a perfect 7-0 SU start that included solid victories over the Rams, Niners, and Titans. That said, some injuries and a few bad breaks led to the Cardinals coughing up the division lead and settling for a Wild Card spot, which set the stage for an unfavorable first-round playoff matchup against their division rival and soon-to-be Super Bowl Champs, the Los Angeles Rams.

ARIZONA CARDINALS ODDS TO WIN NFC CHAMPIONSHIP

+1200

The Cardinals wield the firepower to upset any squad in any given game, however, they’ve also proven capable of losing any given game, highlighted by Arizona going 3-1 SU in matchups against the Rams and Niners last year, who squared off in last year’s NFC Championship Game; while also losing contests to the Lions, Panthers, and Colts down the stretch.

ARIZONA CARDINALS ODDS TO WIN SUPER BOWL 57

+2500

The Cardinals will be an intriguing moneyline play in some matchups, as they’ve become accustomed to riding the wave of hot and cold spells throughout Murray’s tenure, ultimately generating generous plus value lines from time to time; however, I don’t see this team doing any serious damage in the playoffs, and +1200/+2500 to win the NFC or Super Bowl outright doesn’t excite me at a no man’s land longshot price.

ARIZONA CARDINALS 2022 MVP CONTENDERS & ODDS

Kyler Murray (QB) +2000

DeAndre Hopkins (WR) +20000

J.J. Watt (DE) +30000

Murray was a legitimate MVP contender about halfway through last season, considering the Cardinals barreled out to an impressive 8-1 SU start, with their only loss across that timeframe coming in a thrilling home showdown against the Packers (L, 24-21).

However, Kyler injured his ankle on the final play against Green Bay and it was downhill sledding from there, as the Cardinals closed out the regular season with a miserable 3-5 SU skid, and Murray never fully returned to form.

The price tag still isn’t big enough to persuade me into betting on Murray for MVP (+2000), considering Kyler sits in the same category as more appealing contenders such as Lamar Jackson (+2200) and Deshaun Watson (+2500), but I won’t be completely shocked if he bounces back with an MVP caliber campaign this season.

ARIZONA CARDINALS TO MAKE PLAYOFFS ODDS

Make Playoff?: Yes (+125) | No (-150)

The odds seem to be stacked against Arizona this season, especially with Hopkins set to miss six matchups due to suspension, however, this is a squad that won 11 games in one of the toughest divisions in football last year and probably should’ve won a few more than that; so, I’m comfortable rolling the dice on Arizona to make the playoffs at plus odds this time around.
