2022 Cincinnati Bengals Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

2022 CINCINNATI BENGALS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

The AFC North was easily the most competitive race in the league last season, considering the Bengals (10-7), Steelers (9-7-1), Browns (8-9), and Ravens (8-9) all finished within two games of each other; and Cincinnati edged Pittsburgh by just a half-game in order to hoist the division crown.

That half-game edge meant the world to Cincinnati in the long run though, as the Steelers drew a tough road matchup against Kansas City (12-5) on Wild Card Weekend; while the Bengals hosted Las Vegas (10-7) in their first postseason contest, which was followed by road matchups against Tennessee in the Divisional Round and ultimately, Kansas City in the AFC Championship Game.

The Bengals’ numbers weren’t off the charts in any given department last season, considering Cincinnati’s offense ranked 9th in scoring and 14th in total yardage (26.3 PPG, 355 YPG); while defensively, ranking 13th in points allowed and 19th in yardage allowed (21.8 PPG, 352 YPG).

However, the Bengals rocked the entire football community by punching a ticket to Super Bowl 56; and while Cincinnati’s talent level seemingly fails to stack up against some of the other AFC powerhouses, last year’s Bengals squad was a picture-perfect example of how valuable youth and health can be in this league.

WIN TOTAL ODDS

  • Over 9.5 (-115)
  • Under 9.5 (-115)

The Bengals’ win total is stationed at OU 9.5 with each side of the over-under laying -115, and while ten wins might seem like relatively low-hanging fruit for a team that reached last year’s Super Bowl; the back-half of Cincinnati’s schedule is brutal this season, and I’d prefer to stay away from that number with matchups against the Cowboys, Chiefs, Buccaneers, Titans, Patriots, and Bills on this year’s docket, in addition to a handful of tough division games against Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland.

CINCINNATI BENGALS ODDS TO WIN AFC NORTH

+200

The Ravens are listed as narrow favorites to win the AFC North at +165, with Cincinnati and Cleveland trailing closely deadlocked at +200, and Pittsburgh standing as the lone long shot following the retirement of Ben Roethlisberger; and while it’s hard to argue against the logic behind taking a young team that reached the Super Bowl last year, I still believe Baltimore is the most talented squad in this division at full-strength, and Cleveland could be incredibly dangerous depending on how the Deshaun Watson situation shakes out.

CINCINNATI BENGALS ODDS TO WIN AFC CHAMPIONSHIP

+1100

The Bengals are listed at +1100 to win the AFC, which positions them in a secondary cluster a decent ways behind the Bills (+325) and Chiefs (+450), alongside the Broncos (+850), Chargers (+850), Ravens (+1100), and Browns (+1200); and while that’s right around where I believe Cincinnati belongs on the totem pole, I was still expecting the reigning AFC champs to fall somewhere in that upper-middle tier +500 to +800 range heading into the year.

CINCINNATI BENGALS ODDS TO WIN SUPER BOWL 57

+2000

The Bengals are listed at +2000 to win this year’s Super Bowl, which heads the middle-tiers alongside Baltimore deadlocked at that same number, however, the Cardinals (+2500), Browns (+2500), Colts (+2500), and Eagles (+2800) all follow closely behind; and while I highly doubt Cincinnati will punch its ticket to a second straight Super Bowl, let alone win it, it’s hard to deny the value here.

CINCINNATI BENGALS 2022 MVP CONTENDERS & ODDS

Joe Burrow (QB) +1300

Ja'Marr Chase (WR) +10000

Joe Mixon (RB) +15000

Packers’ QB Aaron Rodgers ran away with last year’s MVP by throwing for 4,115 yards and 37 touchdowns to just four interceptions; and took home 78% of the votes. Buccaneers’ QB Tom Brady hauled in 20% of the votes by throwing for 5,316 yards, 43 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions; while Rams’ WR and reigning OPOY Cooper Kupp also received one vote for his magnificent campaign (1,947 YDS, 16 TD).

However, sitting just outside the primary three candidates was Bengals’ QB Joe Burrow, who threw for 4,611 YDS and 34 TD to 14 INT while leading Cincinnati to its first AFC North title since 2015; and while I somewhat doubt the Bengals will defend their division title, if Burrow continues a similar upward trajectory, he could easily land at the forefront of the MVP race this year.

CINCINNATI BENGALS TO MAKE PLAYOFFS ODDS

Make Playoff?: Yes (-145) | No (+115)

While I highly doubt we’ll see the Bengals punch their second straight ticket to the Super Bowl, it only takes 9-10 wins to reach the postseason under the new playoff format; and at the very least, Cincinnati should have enough lopsided matchups on tap against the Jets, Falcons, Panthers, and Dolphins to warrant backing them to make the playoffs at -145.
