2022 Denver Broncos Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

2022 DENVER BRONCOS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

Denver finished dead last in the AFC West last season, as the Broncos saddled up for the homestretch sitting well within striking distance of a playoff spot at 6-5; however, Denver closed things out with a miserable 1-5 skid, with four of those losses coming against division opponents, resulting in their lackluster 7-10 mark for the year.

The Broncos’ defense is very rarely the issue, highlighted by Denver ranking 2nd in points allowed and 9th in total defense last season (18.9 PPG, 326 YPG); opposed to its offense ranking 23rd in scoring and 19th in total yardage (19.7 PPG, 331 YPG).

Many believed Denver was just a quarterback shy of a championship caliber roster, so the Broncos officially put that notion to test this offseason by making a blockbuster acquisition nine-time Pro-Bowl QB Russell Wilson from Seattle in exchange for QB Drew Locke, TE Noah Fant, and five draft picks.

The Super Bowl window for Denver might be closing soon with Wilson turning 34 years old this season, however, the Broncos have an elite defense partnered up with young explosive offense now helmed by savvy veteran; and while I expect Wilson to take a handful of weeks to form chemistry with his new teammates, Denver could ultimately headline the list of “teams you don’t want to play” once the colder months approach.

Best Bet: Broncos to Make the Playoffs (-150)

WIN TOTAL ODDS

  • Over 10.5 (+120)
  • Under 10.5 (-150)

Denver’s win total is stationed at OU 10.5 with a relatively heavy lean towards the under at -150, and while I fully expect the Broncos to enter their bye week sitting somewhere between 6-2 and 8-0 with matchups slated against the Seahawks, Texans, Jaguars, Jets, Colts, and Raiders out of the gate; only one team in the AFC West won 11+ games last year (Kansas City), and Denver will probably be forced to scratch and claw its way to that number through tough division games down the stretch of this season.

DENVER BRONCOS ODDS TO WIN AFC WEST

+250

The Broncos are listed at +250 to win the AFC West, which narrowly trails the Chiefs (+150) and Chargers (+250), yet paces the Raiders (+600) by a considerable margin; and while Kansas City and Los Angeles both have a leg up regarding offensive chemistry, Denver might own the longer leg up in regards to its fourth-place schedule, so if you like the Broncos to win the division, I would pounce now before they roll through Houston, Jacksonville, New York, Seattle, etc. in the early stages of the year.

DENVER BRONCOS ODDS TO WIN AFC CHAMPIONSHIP

+850

Denver is listed at +850 to win the AFC, which ranks directly alongside the Chargers (+850) as the third best odds in the conference, only falling below the Bills (+325) and Chiefs (+450) heading into the season; and while I acknowledge the new-look Broncos wield a massive amount of untapped potential, I need to see better value before I consider placing a future on a team bearing so many question marks.

DENVER BRONCOS ODDS TO WIN SUPER BOWL 57

+1600

The Broncos are listed at +1600 to win this year’s Super Bowl, which positions them in the middle of cluster containing the Niners (+1400), Cowboys (+1600), Chargers (+1600), and Ravens (+2000); and while personally, I won’t be sprinkling any change on Denver to win the title, the Broncos are still one of my favorite mid-range longshot simply because of their untapped potential on the offensive side.

DENVER BRONCOS 2022 MVP CONTENDERS & ODDS

Russell Wilson (QB) +1500

Javonte Williams (RB) +15000

Jerry Jeudy (WR) +20000

Wilson is listed at +1500 to to win MVP with his new squad. which will inevitably be one of the most popular player awards futures heading into the year; however, even if the Broncos post the best record in the league this season, I still doubt Wilson would generate MVP caliber numbers for a Denver squad that prefers to run the ball and lean heavily on its defense.

DENVER BRONCOS TO MAKE PLAYOFFS ODDS

Make Playoff?: Yes (-150) | No (+120)

The AFC West was already one of the most loaded divisions in the league prior to Denver’s acquisition of Wilson, highlighted by Kansas City (12-5), Las Vegas (10-7), and Los Angeles (9-8) all finishing over .500 last season; and while Wilson’s addition should ultimately allow the Broncos to compete for the division crown, I feel much safer backing them to make the playoffs at -150 with three Wild Cards on the table under the current postseason format.
