2022 Las Vegas Raiders Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

2022 LAS VEGAS RAIDERS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

The Raiders and Chargers were deadlocked at 9-7 heading into their Week 18 Sunday Night Football matchup last season, with the winner earning a first-round playoff matchup against Cincinnati and the loser going home; and to the majority’s surprise, Las Vegas came out on top, as L.  A. rallied back from a 15-point fourth-quarter deficit to force overtime, but the Raiders still managed to escape with a narrow three-point victory (W, 35-32).

Many called it a fluke playoff appearance, but the Raiders also held their own against Cincinnati on Wild Card Weekend, as Vegas spent most of the second half trailing by just a touchdown, however, the Raiders’ offense simply couldn’t generate enough momentum to punch in a game-tying score down the homestretch (L, 26-19).

The Raiders’ offense was up and down last season, but mostly up, as Vegas ranked 8th in total yardage and 18th in scoring (21.8 PPG, 365 YPG), which ranks alongside upper-tier squads such as Baltimore (22.8 PPG), San Francisco (24 PPG), and Tennessee (24.2 PPG); however, the difference is, the Raiders’ defense ranked 26th in scoring and 14th in total yardage (25.8 PPG, 336 YPG), which typically isn’t enough to keep them afloat against squads of that caliber.

Best Bet: Raiders Under 8.5 Wins (-115)

WIN TOTAL ODDS

  • Over 8.5 (-115)
  • Under 8.5 (-115)

The Raiders’ win total is stationed at OU 8.5 with both sides of the over-under laying -115; and while nine wins may seem like a relatively easy ask for a squad that went 10-7 last year, Las Vegas stares down the barrel of a much tougher schedule this season, especially following Denver’s acquisition of Russell Wilson, with the Raiders drawing less than favorable matchups against the Rams, Titans, Niners, Cardinals, Chiefs (2), Chargers (2), and Broncos (2), so I’ll take the under in this spot.

LAS VEGAS RAIDERS ODDS TO WIN AFC WEST

+600

The Raiders are listed at +600 to win the AFC West, which is the worst odds to win the division by a considerable margin, with the Chiefs (+150), Chargers (+250), and Broncos (+260) all sitting well above them on the totem pole; and rightfully so, as I would consider all three of those squads legitimate title contenders at this point, while the Raiders still strike me as a fringe playoff team.

LAS VEGAS RAIDERS ODDS TO WIN AFC CHAMPIONSHIP

+1800

The Raiders are listed at +1800 to win the AFC, which stands alongside New England (+1800) on the border separating the lower-middle tiers from the distant longshots, with the Steelers (+4000), Jaguars (+5000), and Jets (+6600) being the next three teams on the odds list behind Las Vegas; and while the Raiders could potentially be an intriguing longshot play, I’m not interested in backing them at a price tag similar to Tennessee’s (+1600).

LAS VEGAS RAIDERS ODDS TO WIN SUPER BOWL 57

+3500

The Raiders are listed at +3500 to win this year’s Super Bowl, which ranks amongst a cluster of fringe playoff teams including the Cardinals (+2500), Browns (+2500), Colts (+2500), Eagles (+2800), Dolphins (+3000), Patriots (+3500), and Vikings (+4000); and while some very solid squads reside in this category, most of them haven’t shown enough upside to warrant consideration here, and Las Vegas is no exception.

LAS VEGAS RAIDERS 2022 MVP CONTENDERS & ODDS

Derek Carr (QB) +2500

Davante Adams (WR) +8000

Josh Jacobs (RB) +20000

Raiders’ QB Derek Carr is listed at +2500 to win this year’s MVP award, which ranks alongside Lamar Jackson (+2000), Kyler Murray (+2000), and Jalen Hurts (+2500) before hitting a steep drop off to names like Trey Lance (+4000), Matt Ryan (+5000), and Derrick Henry (+5000); and while Carr winning the MVP isn’t entirely inconceivable, his price tag to win the award is far less intriguing than some of those further down the list.

LAS VEGAS RAIDERS TO MAKE PLAYOFFS ODDS

Make Playoff?: Yes (+195) No (-240)

The Raiders squeaked into last year’s playoffs by posting a thrilling overtime victory over the Chargers in Week 18, however, without their pair of easy wins over the Broncos, that game probably would’ve meant nothing; and while I doubt Vegas makes the playoffs this year, I’d rather back them to win less than 8.5 games at -115 as opposed to missing the postseason at -240.
