2022 NEW YORK GIANTS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

The Giants finished dead last in the NFC East with a record of 4-13 last season, which tied the Jets (4-13) for the third-worst mark in the league, with the only squads falling behind them in the standings being the Lions (3-13-1) and Jaguars (3-14).

Health issues were partly to blame for the Giants’ struggles, especially on the offensive side, as New York posted a modest 4-7 record through the first 12 weeks of last season, however, QB Daniel Jones’ season-ending neck injury completely derailed the operation and led to an ugly 0-6 skid down the homestretch.

Giants’ RB Saquon Barkley participated in 13 contests last season, which is tied for his career high since suiting up for all 16 games throughout his impressive Rookie of the Year campaign back in 2018; however, Barkley was hampered by injury for a decent portion of last year, and New York’s 31st ranked scoring offense didn’t exactly breed run-heavy scenarios often (15.2 PPG), so cut him some slack for his lackluster production (45.6 RYPG, 12.5 CAR).

During the Eli Manning Era, the Giants became notorious for a pair of stunning Super Bowl runs, but when it mattered most, those teams always took care of the ball and rode the coattail of its defense; which unfortunately, is very far removed from the identity of last year’s Giants’ squad that led the league in turnovers and ranked 23rd in points allowed (24.5 PPG, 1.8 TO).

WIN TOTAL ODDS

  • Over 7.5 (+115)
  • Under 7.5 (-145)

The Giants’ win total is stationed at OU 7.5 with a moderate lean towards the under at -145; and while one could argue New York probably would’ve cleared that bar if it weren’t for injuries to Barkley and Jones last season, the Giants have gone under that number in eight of their last nine campaigns, and they’ll probably stay under again with a bundle of highly unfavorable matchups against the Packers, Titans, Ravens, Colts, Vikings, Cowboys (2), and Eagles (2) crowding this year’s slate.

NEW YORK GIANTS ODDS TO WIN NFC EAST

+800

The Giants are listed at +800 to win the NFC East, which is the worst odds to win the division by a narrow margin behind the Commanders at +500; and while the NFC East is seemingly always up for grabs these days, Washington is a much stronger longshot play to win the division with Carson Wentz making his Commanders’ debut this season.

NEW YORK GIANTS ODDS TO WIN NFC CHAMPIONSHIP

+4000

The Giants are listed at +4000 to win the NFC, which is tied with the Bears (+4000) for the fifth-worst odds to win the conference ahead of the Lions (+6600), Panthers (+6600), Seahawks (+6600), and Falcons (+12500); which falls well beyond my personal line regarding fathomable conference longshots, as teams ranking in this department would require catastrophic roster changes in order to compete for a title, and New York seems to be accurately positioned.

NEW YORK GIANTS ODDS TO WIN SUPER BOWL 57

+10000

The Giants and Bears are also tied for the eighth-worst odds to win this year’s Super Bowl at +10000, which ranks alongside the Lions (+12500), Jaguars (+12500), Jets (+12500), Panthers (+15000), Seahawks (+15000), Falcons (+25000), and Texans (+30000) at the bottom of the league totem pole; and while the Giants certainly aren’t the worst option amongst this department, I can’t see any of these squads making a deep playoff run under their current construction.

NEW YORK GIANTS MVP CONTENDERS & ODDS

Saquon Barkley (RB) +10000

Daniel Jones (QB) +10000

Jones is listed at +10000 to win this year’s MVP award, which ranks very close to the bottom of the starting QB totem pole alongside Trevor Lawrence (+8000), Carson Wentz (+8000), Justin Fields (+8000), Ryan Tannehill (+10000), Zach Wilson (+10000), and Jimmy Garoppolo (+10000); however, Jones also boasts the third-best odds to win Comeback Player of the Year, and while he’s occasionally shown flashes of brilliance, I’ll still be genuinely surprised if he beats out Derrick Henry (+350), Jameis Winston (+500), and Christian McCaffrey (+1000) for that award.

NEW YORK GIANTS TO MAKE PLAYOFFS ODDS

Make Playoff?: Yes (+205) | No (-250)

New York finished dead last in the NFC East with a record of 4-13 last season, which marks the Giants’ third last place division finish across their last five campaigns; and while the NFC East has been wildly unpredictable the last few years, New York’s five straight missed playoffs has ultimately remained a steady factor.
