2022 New York Jets Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

2022 NEW YORK JETS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

The Jets finished dead last in the AFC East with a record of 4-13 last season, which tied the Giants (4-13) for the third-worst mark in the league, with the only squads falling behind them in the final standings being the Lions (3-13-1) and Jaguars (3-14).

The Jets showed flashes of brilliance during QB Zach Wilson’s rookie campaign, as New York pulled off tough upset victories over the Titans (W, 27-24 OT) and Bengals (W, 34-31) early in the year; however, the Jets desperately lacked consistency on the offensive side of the ball, considering their offense scored 18 PTS or less in nine games last year (18.2 PPG), which is a recipe for disaster when combined with a defense ranked dead last in both scoring and total yardage (29.6 PPG, 398 YPG).

Last season was ultimately a disappointment for the Jets, however, they might’ve sparked something offensively down the homestretch, as New York closed out the year by scoring 24+ PTS in three of their last four games; but per usual, their bottom-ranked defense let them down in three of those affairs (1-3), so it’s tough to trust them under most circumstances heading into this season.

Best Bet: Jets Under 5.5 Wins (+140)

WIN TOTAL ODDS

  • Over 5.5 (-170)
  • Under 5.5 (+140)

New York’s win total is stationed at OU 5.5 with a moderate lean towards the over at -170; and while this young Jets squad should ultimately build upon last year’s closing stretch, they’ve still won five games or less in five of their last six campaigns, so I’d much rather roll the dice on New York staying under that number again at plus value.

NEW YORK JETS ODDS TO WIN AFC EAST

+1800

The Jets are listed at +1800 to win the AFC East, which is the worst odds to win the division by a considerable margin, with Miami (+400) and New England (+400) landing much closer to the heavily favored Bills (-190) on the division totem pole; and for what it’s worth, I’d rather take New York at +1800 as opposed to Miami at +400, but thankfully, there’s better options on the board.

NEW YORK JETS ODDS TO WIN AFC CHAMPIONSHIP

+6600

The Jets and Jaguars are tied for the second-worst odds to win the AFC at +6600, with the only squad falling behind them on the conference totem pole being the Texans at +15000; and while personally, I won’t be wasting money on any of these teams in the futures department, but if I had to choose, the Jets would be my pick from that short list.

NEW YORK JETS ODDS TO WIN SUPER BOWL 57

+12500

The Jets are listed at +12500 to win this year’s Super Bowl, which is tied with the Lions and Jaguars for the fifth-worst odds on the board; and while that certainly would be one heck of a payday, I’m not in the business of wasting money on squads this far down the list.

NEW YORK JETS MVP CONTENDERS & ODDS

Zach Wilson (QB) +15000

Wilson is listed at +10000 to win this year’s MVP award, which ranks very close to the bottom of the starting QB totem pole alongside Trevor Lawrence (+8000), Carson Wentz (+8000), Justin Fields (+8000), Ryan Tannehill (+10000), Daniel Jones (+10000), and Jimmy Garoppolo (+10000); and while personally, I won’t be backing any of these guys to win MVP, Wilson actually strikes me as somebody belonging in the +8000 group, so at least you’re getting decent value in this spot.

NEW YORK JETS TO MAKE PLAYOFFS ODDS

Make Playoff?: Yes (+625) | No (-1000)

The Jets finished dead last in the AFC East with a record of 4-13 last year, marking the 11th straight season New York has missed the playoffs since Mark Sanchez led them to back-to-back AFC Championship Games back in 2009-10; and while it seems safe to pencil them in for a 12th straight miss at -1000, this young Jets squad is going to break through and find some success eventually, so why bother playing with fire at that price.
