2022 PHILADELPHIA EAGLES BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

The Eagles finished second in the NFC East with a record of 9-8 last season, which earned the third Wild Card spot in the conference and a trip to Tampa Bay for the opening round of the playoffs, where their road came to an ugly end (L, 31-15); however, Philly had no business getting that far to begin with, considering the Eagles entered Week 10 sitting 3-6, and wound up winning six of their last eight contests en route to narrowly clinching a postseason berth.

Philadelphia’s defense was relatively pedestrian in DC Jonathan Gannon’s first campaign with the team, as the Eagles ranked 19th in points allowed 10th in yardage allowed last season (23.1 PPG, 330 YPG), which ultimately kept their 12th ranked scoring offense afloat in most contests (25.5 PPG), yet wasn’t enough to stand as a legitimate threat to the NFC throne.

The Eagles offense’ cranked up the heat significantly towards the end of last year by scoring 26+ PTS in six of their last eight regular-season contests, and the addition of Pro-Bowl WR A.J. Brown should only quicken the development of Philly’s young offense; however, there’s several question marks surrounding the Eagles’ defense heading into this season, which should ultimately determine what level Philly can contend at.

WIN TOTAL ODDS

  • Over 8.5 (-190)
  • Under 8.5 (+160)

The Eagles’ win total is stationed at OU 8.5 with a relatively heavy lean towards the over at -190, which may seem steep considering they won exactly nine games last season; however, Philly should have no trouble clearing that number with very winnable matchups against the Lions, Jaguars, Texans, Bears, Steelers, Saints, Vikings, Giants (2), and Commanders (2) on this year’s slate.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES ODDS TO WIN NFC EAST

+185

The Eagles are listed at +185 to win the NFC East, which trails the Cowboys by a narrow margin for the best odds to win the division before hitting a steep drop off to the bottom dwelling Commanders (+500) and Giants (+650); and while I don’t see much value in Philly at +185 to win the NFC East, it’s probably the best price tag we’ll see for a while after opening sequentially against the Lions, Vikings, Commanders, and Jaguars.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES ODDS TO WIN NFC CHAMPIONSHIP

+1100

The Eagles are listed at +1100 to win the NFC, which is the sixth-best odds to win the conference behind the Buccaneers (+325), Packers (+500), Rams (+500), Niners (+650), and Cowboys (+750); and while I still think Philly will make the playoffs and maybe even win the division, this squad is still head-and-shoulders below top NFC contenders like Tampa Bay and Los Angeles.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES ODDS TO WIN SUPER BOWL 57

+2500

The Eagles are listed at +2500 to win this year’s Super Bowl, which lands within a crowded middle-tier cluster alongside the Ravens (+2000), Bengals (+2000), Browns (+2500), and Colts (+2500); and while I won’t be totally surprised if Philly winds up doing some damage this postseason, the Ravens and Bengals are still exponentially better options at a similar price point.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES MVP CONTENDERS & ODDS

Jalen Hurts (QB) +2500

Devonta Smith (WR) +15000

Jalen Hurts is listed at +2500 to win this year’s MVP award, which is tied for the 12th best odds on the board alongside Raiders’ QB Derek Carr; and while his alignment on the odds list seems relatively accurate, I still think Hurts at 25-to-1 is way too cheap of a payout for a QB that posted a 16:7 TD-INT ratio last season.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES TO MAKE PLAYOFFS ODDS

Make Playoff?: Yes (-160) | No (+130)

The Eagles earned the third Wild Card spot in the NFC with a record of 9-8 last year, and they didn’t make it look easy, as Philly had to win six of its last eight regular-season contests to even have a shot at a playoff spot; however, this is a solid Philly squad staring down the barrel of one of the easiest schedules in the league this season, so I’ll be genuinely surprised if they miss out on the playoffs.
