2022 SEATTLE SEAHAWKS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

Seattle finished dead last in the NFC West with a record of 7-10 last season, marking just the second time the Seahawks have missed the playoffs since Russell Wilson became the starter back in 2012; however, Seattle ultimately decided it was time to start from scratch, as the Seahawks shipped Wilson to Denver in exchange for Drew Lock plus a massive haul of draft picks this past offseason.

The Seahawks’ offense ranked top-ten in scoring for three straight seasons prior to last year; however, they took quite the nosedive during their latest campaign, as Seattle finished 16^th in scoring and 20^th in total offense last season (23.2 PPG, 324 YPG), but to cut them some slack, that includes three contests with Geno Smith at the helm.

Frankly, it didn’t matter who was under center for Seattle last year, as the Seahawks’ O-line left both QB’s scrambling constantly throughout season and they never settled into a rhythm offensively; however, some of that unsteadiness also stems from a defense that ranked and 31^st against the pass and 17^th against the rush last season (114 RYPG, 266 PYPG).

The Seahawks’ win total is stationed at OU 5.5 with a moderate lean towards the over at -140; and rightfully so, as Seattle hasn’t fallen under that number since 2009 with head coach Jim Mora and QB Matt Hasselbeck. However, the Seahawks should ultimately finish right around that number this season, as I have them pinned for somewhere between 5-7 victories with relatively winnable matchups against the Lions, Falcons, Jets, Giants, Panthers, Saints, and Raiders on this year’s docket, but I wouldn’t count on them winning all seven of those affairs.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS ODDS TO WIN NFC WEST

Seattle is listed at +1200 to win the NFC West, which makes them the lone longshot to win the division behind the Rams (+130), Niners (+190), and Cardinals (+300); and rightfully so, as all three of the aforementioned squads made the playoffs last season, while on the other hand, the Seahawks missed the playoffs and then proceeded to trade away their nine-time Pro-Bowl QB.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS ODDS TO WIN NFC CHAMPIONSHIP

The Seahawks are listed at +6600 to win the NFC, which is tied with the Panthers and Lions for the second-worst odds to win the conference only ahead of the Falcons (+12500); and while none of these squads strike me as appealing longshot plays, Seattle still stands head-and-shoulders above the rest of this group in the talent department, so it’s decent value at least.

The Seahawks are listed at +15000 to win this year’s Super Bowl, which is tied with Carolina for the third-worst odds on the board only ahead of the Falcons (+25000) and Texans (+30000); and while personally, I won’t be sprinkling any money on them to win the title, Seattle still seems a bit undervalued in this spot, but not enough to warrant backing.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS MVP CONTENDERS & ODDS

D.K. Metcalf (WR) +15000

Seahawks’ WR D.K. Metcalf enters the preseason with the best odds on the squad to win this year’s MVP award, which probably isn’t worth much consideration, as MVP honors have gone to the QB position in nine straight seasons, and a WR has never won the award.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS TO MAKE PLAYOFFS ODDS

Make Playoff?: Yes (+450) | No (-650)

The Seahawks have to do some real soul searching after trading away Wilson this past offseason, and unfortunately, there’s no time for that, as the NFC West is jam-packed with talent, leaving Seattle very little room for error when it comes to playoff contention; and with Smith and Lock serving as Seattle’s best options at QB, I’m not expecting anything special from this squad.
