2022 TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

The Buccaneers won the NFC South with a record of 13-4 last season, which marks the first time Tampa Bay has been crowned division champs since 2007 under head coach Jon Gruden and QB Jeff Garcia, only falling behind the Packers for the top seed in the conference.

However, the top two squads’ postseason journeys came to a screeching halt in the Divisional Round, as the Packers dropped a stunner to San Francisco (L, 13-10), and the Buccaneers fell in heartbreaking fashion to Los Angeles (L, 30-27); which enabled the fourth-seeded Rams to host last year’s NFC Championship Game.

The Buccaneers ultimately came up short in the playoffs last year, but make no mistake, this is still one of best squads in football, and they deservedly boast the second-best title odds after finishing 2^nd in total scoring and 7^th in points allowed last season (29.9 OPPG, 20.9 DPPG).

Tampa Bay’s win total is stationed at OU 11.5 with a slight lean towards the over at -130; which sounds about right after going 11-5 and 13-4 in Tom Brady’s first two campaigns with his new team. However, this Bucs’ squad should never have trouble clearing 12+ wins in the NFC South with six relatively weak division matchups on the slate each season.

The Buccaneers are listed at -300 to win the NFC South, which is the heaviest division favorite on the board ahead of the Bills (-190) and Packers (-175); and rightfully so, as Tampa Bay won the NFC South title by a four-game margin last season, with New Orleans (9-8), Atlanta (7-10), and Carolina (5-12) never standing much of a chance.

Tampa Bay is listed at +375 to win the NFC, which is the best odds to win the conference by a decent margin, with the Packers (+500), Rams (+500), and Niners (+650) falling closest to them on the totem pole; and while I acknowledge there’s a decent shot the Bucs’ wins the NFC this season, the oddsmakers’ high level of favoritism doesn’t quite feel earned here.

The Buccaneers are listed at +750 to win this year’s Super Bowl, which is the second-best title odds on the board behind the Bills (+650); and if Tampa Bay futures happen to pique your interest, I’d rather back them to go all the way at +750 as opposed to winning the conference at +375, but it’s similarly steep value on both sides of the coin.

Brady is listed at +800 to win this year’s MVP award, which is tied with Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes for the second-best odds on the board behind Bills’ QB Josh Allen (+700); which is pretty good value for the old man, considering Brady led the league in both passing yards and passing touchdowns last season (5,315 PYDS, 43 TD), and he’s poised for another big year after a heartbreaking end to the Bucs’ previous campaign.

The Buccaneers cruised to an NFC South title with a record of 13-4 last season, which paced the Saints (9-8), Falcons (7-10), and Panthers (5-12) by a very comfortable margin; and while I still believe New Orleans is much better than people give them credit for, Tampa Bay should ultimately cakewalk to the playoffs for a third straight season with Brady under center.
