Atlanta Falcons vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Predictions

Score Prediction - Tampa Bay 38 Atlanta 27

It’s not often this early in the season where we have two teams whose fate is already sealed. Such is life for Atlanta who saw their season end week 1 against the Eagles. Not simply because they were dominated in all areas of a football game, but more so because of how much talent they lack. Matt Ryan looked like roadkill for a lot of the game, the Falcons OL was nonexistent, and their defense looked like they hadn’t had a single practice before the game.

Those are glaring issues that can’t be fixed by cleaning up some holding penalties. Their big play offense was barely an offense, and even in the second half where we’ve seen garbage points scored, they were shutout. The Eagles defense was brand new! Not a unit coming off a SB victory last year like the one the Falcons will face in Tampa.

Tom Brady and his Bucs needed every play to comeback against the Cowboys, but with extra rest should be primed to beat up on the Falcons. This is a divisional game which should add some concern to that ridiculous spread of 12.5, but the Bucs won’t lose this football game, that’s for sure. Their defense struggled against pass-happy Dallas but should have a much easier time getting to Ryan vs. Prescott.

People concerned with the play of Tampa’s defense in Week 1 should look at the difference in matchup this week, specifically the offensive line. Atlanta will try and run Mike Davis, something the Bucs would more than welcome with their front seven. This would be a monumental upset if the Falcons went on the road and beat the Bucs.

It wouldn’t be that big of a shock if they covered that giant line. Divisional opponents are never easy, even for the Patriots and Jets mismatch, so looking at this large of a line should carry some concern. The biggest unknown in all of this is whether the Falcons are live for a backdoor cover. We saw nothing from them last week and may come up limp again in Tampa.

The point total has gone UNDER in five straight games played between Dallas and Tampa Bay. (AP)

Atlanta Falcons vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Betting Analysis

These two teams love to get together and score points. The over has hit in each of their last six games, with the dog covering five straight matchups. The line is so large and dismisses the Falcons as any backdoor team. The Falcons aren’t what they used to be, but getting Calvin Ridley or Kyle Pitts a TD, deep in the fourth while trailing by 17 points isn’t as ridiculous as it seems.
