Las Vegas Raiders vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Predictions

Score Prediction - Steelers 31 Raiders 30

This game should provide a lot of the weeks’ worth of fireworks, especially how each team rolls into the week. The Raiders could not be denied, coming back twice last week, and eventually knocking off the Ravens in OT. Derek Carr led his offense to nearly 500 total yards – with about a quarter of that productivity going to Darren Waller.

The ball was spread around after that, but the Raiders have a couple of young wideouts with speed, something that might give the Steelers some matchup issues. Tough to take a ton away from how the Raiders defense played, mainly because the matchup is so different this week at the QB position. Vegas does have to pick up and travel to Pittsburgh, opening the door for a letdown on the road.

Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers escaped Buffalo after beating one of the best teams in the league. They needed a blocked punt to separate from the Bills, but the defense was the story all game, holding Josh Allen to just one score. The biggest takeaway from week to week is how well a team’s defense plays, allowing for less of a sample size than most offenses. Pittsburgh slowed down one of the game’s most prolific rushing attacks, on the road, and limited an explosive passing target. They will not have it easy against Waller, but Big Ben has a not-so-secret weapon of his own.

Najee Harris played 100% of the snaps on offense in Buffalo. The rookie played every single snap. This type of commitment to both player and run don’t fall off after one week. The Raiders defense will get a healthy balance of offense from the Steelers. Dionte Johnson, Ju-Ju, and Chase Claypool aren’t going away, and should be a nice mix of middle to deep threats. Expect both teams to take a bunch of shots downfield, but only the Steelers to stay committed to the run with Harris.

The point total has gone UNDER in five straight games played between Dallas and Tampa Bay. (AP)

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Analysis

With two rookies and one second-year player on their OL, the Steelers only committed one false start last weekend IN Buffalo. The home opener at Pittsburgh should exponentially benefit an already tested yet young offensive line. Both teams opened the season covering as dogs, only Vegas did it at home. One thing to look at would be Pittsburgh dropping three straight games as favorites, dating back to last season. Vegas is +210 on the ML.
