New England Patriots vs. New York Jets Predictions
Score Prediction - Patriots 27 Jets 17
For the last 11 years, the New England Patriots have dominated the New York Jets in their head-to-head matchups. The Patriots are 19-4 against the Jets dating back to 2010, and Gang Green hasn’t knocked off New England in regulation since the 2010 NFL Playoffs. The oddsmakers are giving the Jets a real chance this week, despite some injury woes.
The Jets lost their best offensive lineman and their top safety in last week’s loss to Carolina. Left tackle Mekhi Becton and defensive back LaMarcus Joyner are now on injured reserve, and those losses will certainly hurt New York in this game. The absence of Becton is especially painful, as he was being counted on to protect Zach Wilson’s blindside.
Wilson had a dreary start in his first NFL game, but he looked better as the game progressed. He started to ease into a comfort zone and ended up throwing two touchdown passes to Corey Davis in the second half.
The Jets were unable to do much running the ball though. New York had 17 carries for 45 yards against Carolina in Week 1, and it’s unlikely they will have much success against New England’s front seven. The Patriots limited Miami to 3.2 YPC last Sunday. Fellow rookie quarterback Mac Jones looked much better in his debut. Although he was going against one of the best secondaries in the NFL, he managed to post a 75.1 QBR and nearly led the Patriots to the win in his first game.
Jones did a good job evenly spreading the ball, as four different New England players had five receptions or more. Damien Harris should have a good amount of success this week too after averaging 4.3 YPC against the Dolphins. The Jets’ defensive ends aren’t great, so outside runs can potentially break off big chunks of yardage.
The point total has gone UNDER in five straight games played between Dallas and Tampa Bay. (AP)

New England Patriots vs. New York Jets Betting Analysis
New England has won five of its last six games against New York by at least 14 points. A certain GOAT was under center for most of those wins, but Bill Belichick always has a great game plan against the team he spurned to take over the Patriots. The Jets have failed to score more than 17 points in seven of their last eight games against New England, so back the Patriots here.
