Rookie Zach Wilson has not looked good in his first three NFL games. He has arguably looked the worst of all the rookie quarterbacks, completing just over 55% of his passes for 6.0 YPA with two touchdowns and seven interceptions. The New York Jets will stick with the No. 2 overall pick through the bumps, and it could get rocky against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Tennessee Titans vs. New York Jets Predictions

Tennessee has the most predictable offense in the league. The Titans love to keep the ball on the ground with two-time NFL rushing leader Derrick Henry carrying the load. Most teams aren’t able to keep Henry in check unless they take an early lead and take the Titans out of their comfort zone, and the Jets are unlikely to succeed there.

Tennessee Titans Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 2-1
  • ATS: 2-1
  • O/U: 1-2
  • ATS - Home: 1-1
  • ATS - Away: 1-0

Ryan Tannehill hasn’t been as effective as we have seen the last couple years. Tannehill has thrived off play action with Henry occupying the attention of opposing defenses, but he is averaging just 7.4 YPA through three games and has been more mistake-prone than usual. He has only connected with A.J. Brown seven times in 19 targets, hurting the explosiveness of this passing game.

New addition Julio Jones has thrived in place of Davis, and Henry is playing an ever-larger role in the passing game. Tennessee is keeping defenses off-balance by throwing to him more often, and that has helped him get downfield with a head of steam.

New York Jets Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 0-3
  • ATS: 0-3
  • O/U: 0-3
  • ATS - Home: 0-1
  • ATS - Away: 0-2

The Jets are averaging a paltry 6.7 PPG through their first three games. This offense has somehow gotten worse and looks set to rank in the bottom five in the NFL in total offense for the fifth straight year. Wilson is receiving the brunt of the criticism, but the rookie has been sacked 15 times and he doesn’t have much help.

Corey Davis is the best big play threat on the team and has caught both touchdown passes. Elijah Moore and Jamison Crowder are both questionable to play across from Davis, and the ground game hasn’t been able to take the pressure off with just 80 YPG.

The New York Jets have lost 13 of their last 14 games when facing a team from the AFC. (AP)

Tennessee Titans vs. New York Jets Betting Conclusion

The Jets should have a little more success on offense than usual. Tennessee doesn’t have a great defense, and New York will have the chance to move the ball in garbage time. The Titans will salt the game away with Henry, leading to a comfortable win for the road team.
