New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys Predictions

The Dallas Cowboys are clearly the team to beat in the NFC East. They have the best offense in the division by a mile, and they have the best quarterback in Dak Prescott. Their defense has looked much better too, establishing themselves as the front runners. They can move to 2-0 in the division this Sunday if they can take care of business against the New York Giants at home.

Dallas is the only unbeaten team ATS this season. The Cowboys fell to defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay in the season opener, but they were able to stay within the number. They have since won three straight games and covered against all three opponents. That has led to even more of a bandwagon effect for the Cowboys, and the value lies in the Giants at this price.

New York Giants Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 1-3
  • ATS: 2-2
  • O/U: 2-2
  • ATS - Home: 0-2
  • ATS - Away: 2-0

Pro Football Focus has Daniel Jones as one of the top-rated quarterbacks in the NFL through the first four weeks of the season. Jones may be this year’s Josh Allen, shining when the general consensus had him pegged as a bust. The Duke product is completing two-thirds of his passes for 8.2 YPA with four touchdowns and an interception thus far in 2021.

Jones is a very good runner too. He leads the Giants with 188 yards and is averaging 7.0 YPC with his legs. Saquon Barkley is averaging just 3.6 YPC, as the offensive line is banged up and struggling to run block.

Kenny Golladay is thriving with the Giants. Golladay leads the team with 17 receptions for 282 yards, and he is the big play threat this offense has needed since the departure of Odell Beckham Jr. With Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton questionable to play, rookie Kadarius Toney could see plenty of run.

Dallas Cowboys Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 3-1
  • ATS: 4-0
  • O/U: 3-1
  • ATS - Home: 2-0
  • ATS - Away: 2-0

Prescott is thriving in the 'Metroplex' this season. Prescott is completing over 75% of his passes and averaging 8.0 YPA with 10 touchdowns and two interceptions. He hasn’t been afraid to run when necessary, but he may have some mixed feelings on Sunday. The Pro Bowl quarterback had his season ended against the Giants in Dallas last year around this time.

The Cowboys are loaded at the skill positions. Ezekiel Elliott is putting a disappointing 2020 season behind him, and he is expected to play despite dealing with a knee injury that has limited Elliott in practice this week. He is averaging 5.3 YPC with four touchdowns, and Tony Pollard is more than serviceable if Elliott can’t play. Pollard is averaging 6.8 YPC behind this great offensive line.

CeeDee Lamb has had diminishing returns since shining in Dallas’ season opener. He caught just two passes for 13 yards last week against Carolina, but he might have a much bigger role in the offense this week as Amari Cooper is dealing with an injury. Michael Gallup is still sidelined, so Lamb will need to shine if Cooper is limited or unable to play.

The New York Giants have gone UNDER the point total in nine of their last 11 games. (AP)

New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys Betting Conclusion

This Dallas defense is improved, but the Cowboys only have one good cornerback. Trevon Diggs has played well, yet the rest of the defensive backs are questionable. Jones can make enough plays to keep this one within the number.
