Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Los Angeles Chargers Predictions

After winning the AFC North with a record of 12-4 last year, Pittsburgh stumbled out to an surprisingly poor start to the new season, as the Steelers kicked things off with losses in three of their first four games – with Pittsburgh’s only victory across that span coming in a tight low-scoring battle against the Bills (W, 23-16).

Since their 1-3 start though, the Steelers have played much better football, highlighted by Pittsburgh entering Sunday night’s contest following wins in four of the last five games, which includes impressive victories over the Browns, Seahawks, and Broncos across that stretch – yet tied the Lions last week (16- 16 OT).

On the other hand, Los Angeles stormed out to an excellent start to the season, as the Chargers entered Week 6 boasting a sturdy 4-1 mark – which consisted of solid victories over the Chiefs, Raiders, and Browns.

Since their hot start though, Justin Herbert and company haven’t been all that impressive, considering the Chargers head into Sunday’s matchup following losses in three of the last four games – with L. A.’s only victory across that time frame coming in a matchup against the Eagles that they nearly lost (W, 27- 24).

I’ll take the under here, as the Steelers rank 25th in the league in scoring at 19.7 PPG – while as of late, the Chargers have also struggled offensively, averaging just 19.2 PPG across their latest four-game window.

Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 5-3-1
  • ATS: 3-6
  • O/U: 5-4
  • ATS - Home: 2-3
  • ATS - Away: 2-1

Many bettors immediately wrote off Pittsburgh after stumbling out to a head-scratching 1-3 start, but it appears the Steelers weren’t quite done yet, as Pittsburgh heads into Week 11 sitting in second place in the AFC North with a record of 5-3-1.

Pittsburgh can’t afford to post ties against bottom-tier teams like the Lions though, considering the Steelers are jam-packed into a competitive AFC North race with a roster of dynamic squads in the Ravens, Browns, and Bengals – so there’s very little room for error.

Los Angeles Chargers Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 5-4
  • ATS: 5-4
  • O/U: 3-6
  • ATS - Home: 2-3
  • ATS - Away: 3-1

The Chargers’ first-half schedule was absolutely brutal, considering by Week 8, L. A. had already faced a tedious gauntlet of opponents consisting of the Chiefs, Cowboys, Raiders, Browns, Ravens, and Washington.

The vast majority expected the Chargers to heat back up once their schedule cooled off though, however, things still aren’t getting better for them, considering L. A. enters Sunday’s event following losses in three of the last four games – despite being favored in three of those contests.

Pittsburgh has gone UNDER the point total in seven of its last eight games after going into OT the game prior. (AP)

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Los Angeles Chargers Betting Conclusion

After tying the Lions last week (16-16 OT), the Steelers will travel to Los Angeles on Sunday night as a touchdown-underdog against the Chargers at SoFi Stadium – marking the fourth straight game L. A. has been favored in, despite the Chargers losing three of their last four games.

I’ll take the under here, as the Steelers (20.7 PPG) and Chargers (19.2 PPG) are averaging a combined total of roughly 40 PPG across their latest four-game window – so, I’m banking on a competitive low- scoring battle between these teams on Sunday night.
