Los Angeles Rams vs. Green Bay Packers Predictions

The Rams have been champing at the bit, as they were paddled 31-10 last time out in San Francisco, then had to endure the bye. It's been since Halloween since the Rams experienced an NFL win, and they haven't covered since Oct. 17, a 38-11 road win against the New York Giants. In fact, the past two times the Rams have been East of the Mississippi River, the Rams are 2-0 SU/1-1 ATS, with the OVER 1-0-1.

The Packers had a little bit of a hiccup earlier in the month. They fell 13-7 at Kansas City in the game QB Aaron Rodgers missed due to his positive COVID-19 test and his much-publicized lack of vaccination. He returned in Week 10, a 17-0 win over the Seattle Seahawks, but the offense was a bit disjointed after he didn't practice with the team all week. He was back for first-team reps leading up to last week's game in Minnesota, and the Packers were outlasted 34-31, but at least the offense looks to be back on track again. In fact, it was the first OVER result since Week 3, snapping a 7-0 UNDER run.

Green Bay might make a request to the NFL office to relocate to the NFC West Division, as the Packers are a perfect 3-0 SU/ATS so far this season, averaging 23.7 PPG while allowing 16.3 PPG, with the UNDER going 2-1 in those three outings.

The Rams limp in on an 0-4 ATS skid, and the UNDER is on a 4-1-1 run across the past six outings. The Rams are favored on the road against the Packers, which might be a bit of a surprise to some. Los Angeles is 0-4 ATS in the past four as a favorite, and 2-6 ATS in the past eight when favored. They're just 2-3 ATS in the past five as a road favorite, too.

Los Angeles will be facing its third NFC North Division foe so far this season. The Rams opened with a 34-14 win over the Bears in Week 1, covering as 9.5-point favorites as the OVER hit, and they eased by the Lions 28-19 as 17-point favorites as the UNDER cashed. Both games were in SoFi, so this will be their first road game against a North opponent.

The UNDER is 4-1-1 in the past six for the Rams, and 22-7-1 in the past 30 as a favorite. The UNDER is also 12-5-1 in their past 18 as a road fave, too.

Green Bay Packers Betting Analysis

The Packers will be seeing an old face in QB Matthew Stafford, as they know the quarterback well from his many years with the Detroit Lions. Speaking of quarterbacks, the Pack hope theirs is OK, as Rodgers will be playing with a broken toe on his foot. He even showed it during a press conference this week.

Green Bay has been cover kings this season, going 4-0 ATS in the past four at home, 4-0 ATS in the past four against winning teams and 9-1 ATS in the past 10 overall. In fact, their nine covers are the most in the NFL this season.

As far as totals, the UNDER is 7-1 in the past eight games overall for the Packers, and 4-1 in the past five against NFC opponents.

And this trend might be a tad bit overhyped, especially since Stafford and many of the players weren't with the Rams for many or all of the previous games. However, the Packers are 7-0 ATS in the past seven meetings in this series, 4-1 ATS in the past five at Lambeau and the favorite is 10-1 ATS in the past 11 meetings overall. That has to count for something, right?

I'd feel a lot better about backing the Packers as short 'dogs at home if Rodgers wasn't showing his broken toe in pressers, and if I was positive RB Aaron Jones (knee) would play. He is questionable, although if he did sit, AJ Dillon is more than capable of doing the job.

Add in the fact we're going to see temperatures at or near freezing with a northwest wind of 17 mph, and that's going to wreak havoc on the pass game, as well as perhaps the kicking game. That's good news for UNDER bettors. I think the Packers scratch out another low scoring win on their home turf, which isn't quite frozen yet, but on its way. The California freeze babies won't be able to handle that icy and real weather.
