Arizona Cardinals vs. Dallas Cowboys Predictions

After finishing third in the NFC West with a record of 8-8 SU last year, Arizona jumped out to a surprisingly excellent start to the new season, as the Cardinals opened with an impressive 8-1 SU and 7-2 ATS run – despite getting tagged as underdogs in four of those matchups.

The Cardinals have completely fallen apart since their opening stretch though, considering Arizona is just 2-4 SU and ATS across the last six games – despite getting tagged as favorites in all but one of those matchups.

On the other hand, Dallas also posted an excellent start to the year, as the Cowboys kicked things off with a solid 6-1 SU and 7-0 ATS run – with their only loss across that stretch coming in a thrilling season-opener against the Buccaneers (L, 31-29).

Dallas has also somewhat underachieved during the back-half of the season though, considering the Cowboys are just 5-3 SU and ATS across the last eight games – while scoring 21 PTS or less in half of those affairs (4).

I’ll take the under here, as despite Dallas leading the league in both scoring and total offense (30.5 PPG, 409.5 PPG), the Cowboys have tallied 27 PTS or less in four of the last six games – but that should still be enough top a Cardinals squad averaging just 19.5 PPG across that same timeframe.

The Cowboys enter Sunday’s contest favored by roughly a touchdown over the visiting Cardinals, which marks the heftiest underdog given to Arizona this season.

The total for Sunday’s affair is stationed just north of OU 50 at most shops – marking the highest bar set for a Cowboys’ game since hosting the Raiders in Week 12 (L, 36-33).

Arizona Cardinals Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 10-5
  • ATS: 9-6
  • O/U: 7-8
  • ATS - Away: 7-1

After posting an impressive 7-0 start to the season, Cardinals’ fans held their breath through the end of their Week 8 loss to Green Bay, as not only did Arizona surrender its first loss of the season – Kyler Murray was also seen walking with a noticeable limp following the final play, which left him sidelined for three games.

Since that point, it’s been steep downhill sledding for Arizona, considering the Cardinals sit at 3-5 SU and ATS across the last eight games – while averaging just 21.1 PPG offensively and surrendering 24 PPG defensively across that timeframe.

Dallas Cowboys Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 11-4
  • ATS: 12-3
  • O/U: 7-8
  • ATS - Home: 5-2

After finishing third in the NFC East with a record of 6-10 SU last year, Dallas bounced back with an excellent start to this season, as the Cowboys opened with wins SU and ATS in six of their first seven games – while racking up 32.1 PPG offensively across that span.

The Cowboys haven’t been quite as active in the scoring department during the second half though, highlighted by Dallas tallying 27 PTS or less in five of the last eight games. Instead, the Cowboys’ recent success has come through excellent defense, considering Dallas has surrendered 20 PTS or less in six of the last seven games (16.4 PPG).

The Cardinals are 5-1 ATS in their last five matchups against Dallas. (AP)

Arizona Cardinals vs. Dallas Cowboys Betting Conclusion

After extending their losing streak to three with a loss to Indianapolis last week (L, 22-16), the Cardinals will hit the road on Sunday afternoon as six-point underdogs against the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium – marking the sixth straight game Dallas has been favored by six points or more.

I’ll take the under here, as scoring likely won’t come all that easy during Sunday’s matchup between a Cowboys’ squad that has scored 27 PTS or less in four of the last six games (28.9 PPG) – and a Cardinals’ squad averaging just 19.5 PPG across their last six.

  • The Cardinals are 2-4 ATS in their last six games.
  • The total has gone UNDER in eight of the last 12 matchups between Dallas and Arizona.
