CAROLINA PANTHERS vs. NEW YORK GIANTS BETTING PREDICTION

The Panthers opened the regular season with a lot of anticipation, as QB Baker Mayfield would face his former team, the Cleveland Browns. It was a tale of three games, really. The Browns fired out to a 14-0 lead, and a 20-7 heading into the fourth quarter. The Panthers then rallied behind The Bake Show, as he had a 7-yard touchdown run early in the fourth, and a 75-yard touchdown pass to WR Robbie Anderson, don't call him Robby. Then, with 1:13 left in regulation, the Panthers actually took their first lead, 24-23.

However, the Panthers left too much time on the clock for QB Jacoby Brissett and the Browns. No. Seriously. Brissett and the Browns offense scooted down the field, moving into position for a 58-yard field goal by rookie PK Cade York. Head coach Kevin Stefanski, unlike Denver's Nathaniel Hackett, was able to cash in on a lengthy late field goal for the road win.

Speaking of stealing games on the road, the New York Giants should've been wearing ski masks during the game in Tennessee last week. The Titans fired out to a 13-0 lead heading into halftime, and they carried that lead early into the third quarter. That's when the G-Men, in particular RB Saquon Barkley, came alive on offense. He had a 4-yard touchdown run, and another long 68-yard run in the half. He ended up with 18 carries for 164 yards and a touchdown, bouncing back from a couple of seasons of missed games and missed opportunities due to injury.

After the Giants tied it up at 13-13, the Titans saw QB Ryan Tannehill hit RB Dontrell Hilliard for his second touchdown of the game, making it 20-13 late in the third.

The G-Men got deep into Tennessee territory in the fourth quarter, but QB Daniel Jones tossed an interception in the end zone, giving the Titans the ball back. On the sidelines, new head coach Brian Daboll was seen destroying Jones in a one-sided conversation. Whatever was said must've stuck. Jones led the team down the field for a touchdown drive, making it 20-19. Instead of kicking the extra point with 66 seconds left in regulation, the first-year head coach in his debut elected to go for two. Steel balls. And Jones hit Barkley for the two-point conversion, making it 21-20.

The Titans did move the ball down the field for a potential game-winning field goal, but PK Randy Bullock chunked it, much to the dismay of OVER (43.5) bettors. And the G-Men held on, stealing the win in Nashville.

CAROLINA PANTHERS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Panthers also had their oft-injured running back, Christian McCaffrey, return to the lineup last week. He didn't get as many carries as fans, bettors and fantasy managers would like. Expect to see head coach Matt Rhule lean upon CMC a little more, although his workload will still be managed in an effort to avoid injury and keep him fresh.

Carolina played in this very same venue in Week 7 last season, and New York picked up a 25-3 win in a game which saw RB Chuba Hubbard starting for the Panthers, and RB Devontae Booker starting for the Giants. A CMC-Saquon matchup makes this a whole lot more intriguing, and Mayfield is still a major upgrade over Sam Darnold, currently injured.

The Panthers are 0-4 ATS in the past four games on the road dating back to last season, and they're also 0-4 ATS in the past four as an underdog. Carolina is 3-13 ATS in the past 16 games overall, too, while going 1-4 ATS in the past five against winning teams.

For totals, the OVER is 7-2 in the past nine games overall, while going 4-1 in the past five games on the road. The OVER is 7-3 in the past 10 as a road underdog, too, while going 5-2 in the past seven after a SU win, as well as a cover.

NEW YORK GIANTS BETTING ANALYSIS

The G-Men have failed to cover six of the past seven games, but that lone cover was last week's straight up win in Nashville as an underdog. Can they bring that same energy, and turn things around at home? The Giants are 9-22-1 ATS in the past 32 games at home. Again, one of those wins and covers was against the Panthers last season. In addition, New York was 2-6-1 ATS in the past nine as a home favorite, too.

For totals, the UNDER is an amazing 20-5-1 in the past 26 games overall for the Giants, while going 6-1-1 in the past eight games against NFC opponents. The UNDER is also 12-1 in the past 13 against teams with a losing overall record, and 10-1 in the past 11 following a cover in the previous weekend. Sticking with the UNDER theme, the UNDER is 18-7-1 in the past 26 games at home for the G-Men, too.
