PHILADELPHIA EAGLES vs. NEW YORK GIANTS BETTING PREDICTION

The Giants stormed out to a surprisingly strong start with new head coach Brian Daboll at the helm, as the G-Men opened the season with wins in seven of their first nine games, despite Daniel Jones and co. generating less than 21 PPG on the offensive side of the ball during that timeframe.

However, New York’s true colors are finally beginning to show through, especially on the defensive side of the ball, as the Giants are now 1-3-1 in their last five games, while surrendering an average of 24.4 PPG to their opponents across their latest stretch. Which isn’t all that bad under most circumstances, but certainly not enough to prop up an offense that’s scored 21 PTS or less in 8-of-12 matchups so far this season.

On the flip side, the Eagles still boast the best record in football heading into Week 14, highlighted by Philly generating a lofty average of 28.2 PPG on the offensive side of the ball throughout their impressive 11-1 start to the year.

While defensively, also ranking seventh in the league in points allowed at 18.8 PPG on the season, along with a recently added exclamation point to their hot start with a triumphant 25-point victory over the Titans this past Sunday.

The tale of the tape between these squads includes a pair of offenses trending in completely opposite directions, with the Eagles racking up an average of 27.9 PPG in their last eight games, and the G-Men scoring just 19 PPG across their latest 1-3-1 skid.

The Birds have now scored 26+ PTS in five of their last seven contests, which is a number New York has eclipsed just once this season. So, I’ll back Philly to cover here, as the Giants’ defense hasn’t been playing well enough to compensate for an offense that’s scored 20 PTS or less in four of their last five games. Which certainly doesn’t bode well heading into Sunday’s matchup against an Eagles squad that’s currently playing with boatloads of confidence.

Philly’s defense was relatively pedestrian prior to this season, as the Eagles ranked 18th in scoring and 10th in total yardage on the defensive side of the ball last year, which kept them afloat in most scenarios behind on offense averaging 26.1 PPG.

However, the Birds have played phenomenal on both sides of the script this season, spearheaded by their defense allowing just 18.8 PPG while forcing a league-high 22 turnovers on the year.

Which is exactly the type of dominance capable of elevating this squad to title contention if Jalen Hurts and co. continue to match that with over 28 PPG on the other side of the ball. But we’ll just have to wait and see if they can maintain that level of production all the way through the finish line.

NEW YORK GIANTS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Giants posted an absolutely stunning first half of the season, as Daniel Jones and co. barreled out to a red-hot 6-1 start to the year, despite averaging just 21.4 PPG on the offensive side of the ball during that timeframe.

However, they’ve faced a solid group of offenses recently, and their defense hasn’t been able to answer the bell, highlighted by the Giants surrendering 24.4 PPG across their last five games, resulting in a quartet of winless outings against the Seahawks, Cowboys, Lions, and Commanders.

Teams with high-powered offenses can get away with mediocre defensive play from time-to-time. However, every point hurts when your offense averages just 20.4 PPG on the other side of the script. And I doubt we’ll see that number climb after scoring 20 PTS or less in four of their last five games.
