The opening Round of 16 match features Wales taking on Denmark and kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. ET and will air on ESPN.

Wales vs. Denmark Picks & Predictions

The Danes are flying right now and should progress to the quarterfinals. Wales can never be ruled out, however, as their performances at Euro 2016 showed. They have shown some good attacking promise, with Dan James an excellent counter-attacking option along with the world class quality of Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale and the aerial threat of Moore.

The goal line looks too low given the pattern of both sides’ matches so far, and a Denmark win with over 2.5 goals is my bet.

For a first goal scorer Denmark’s Yussuf Poulsen looks a nice bet. He is their leading goal scorer at the tournament with two and makes intelligent runs in behind the opposition’s defense. He is as high as +400 to score first.

Score Prediction: Denmark 3 Wales 1

Betting Odds - Wales vs. Denmark

Denmark have become everyone’s second favorite team after overcoming the cardiac arrest suffered by Christian Eriksen in the opening round of matches.

They have played excellently in all three matches and are solid favorites to progress to the quarter-finals at 4/6. Wales are out at 4/1 with the draw 9/4.

You can get Wales to qualify at 2/1 and Denmark at 4/11. A low-scorer is expected, with over 2.5 goals priced at +150 and the under at -200.

Wales Betting Outlook

Wales were fortunate to draw with Switzerland in their opening game, but they tore Turkey apart on the counter-attack in their second game, winning 2-0 while also missing a penalty.

Against Italy they were content to lose 1-0 and qualify in second on goal difference.

A key question will be whether they start with Kieffer Moore up front. The big target-man was key to their approach against Switzerland and Turkey but dropped to the bench against Italy.

Denmark Betting Outlook

Denmark have responded unbelievably well to their opening day loss to Finland - a game where they conceded from their only shot, missed a penalty, and failed to score from another 22 shots.

They were the better team for large parts of their defeat to Belgium and blew Russia away in a fantastic 4-1 win.

In Eriksen’s absence they have shifted from a 4-2-3-1 to a 3-5-2, with no static center-forward. They are genuinely exciting going forward and are rightful favorites, especially given that there will be far more Danish fans in the ground than Welsh fans due to travel restrictions.
