AAC Tournament Odds

No. 2 Memphis vs No. 1 Houston

Opening line: Houston -6.5; Over/Under 135.5
Time: 3:15 p.m. ET Sunday (ESPN)

UPDATE 1:45 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Ninety minutes before tipoff, Houston is laying 5.5 points in PointsBet USA's AAC Tournament betting market. The Cougars opened -6 late Saturday night, and the line made a few trips to -5.5, the latest coming in just the past few minutes.

Memphis is taking 59% of spread tickets and 79% of spread money. However, on the moneyline, Houston (-250) is commanding about 90% of tickets and dollars.

The total opened at 135, bottomed out at 134 late Saturday night, and about an hour ago peaked at 136, where it sits now. Updated splits weren't available.

UPDATE 11 P.M. ET SATURDAY: Houston (31-2 SU, 18-15 ATS) is arguably the hottest team in the country, at least SU, riding a 13-game winning streak. The Cougars haven't been as impressive for bettors, going just 5-8 ATS in that stretch.

But Houston got it done on the floor and at the betting window in Saturday's AAC semis. The Cougars hammered No. 4 seed Cincinnati 69-48 laying 9.5 points to halt a 1-6 ATS purge.

The Cougars haven't lost since Jan. 22, in a shocking 56-55 setback giving 19.5 points to Temple. And Houston's only other loss came Dec. 10 against fellow Top Five outfit Alabama, a 71-65 decision as a 9.5-point home chalk.

Memphis had an even easier time in its semi against No. 3 seed Tulane. The Tigers (25-8 SU, 15-16-2 ATS) closed as 6-point faves and blasted the Green Wave 94-54 as a 6-point chalk. Memphis followed a 42-point first half with a 52-point second half.

The Tigers are 8-2 SU (6-3-1 ATS) over their last 10 games, and both losses came to the Cougars. On Feb. 19, host Houston won 72-64, and in the March 5 regular-season finale, the Cougars escaped on the road 67-65. But Memphis cashed in both meetings, as a hefty 14.5-point road pup last month and as a 4.5-point home 'dog last week.

Caesars Sports opened Houston -6.5 on the AAC Tournament odds board earlier this evening. The line immediately dipped to Cougars -6 on the way to -5.5. The total opened at 135.5 and is down a tick to 135. Check back through tipoff for updates on odds moves, action and betting splits.
