-- The last time the top seed in the MWC actually won the tournament title prior to Boise State in 2022 was Nevada back in 2017. Utah State closed as a #2 seed in each of its two titles in 2019 and 2020, while San Diego State captured the 2018 championship as a #5 seed.

-- For the exception of 2020, the last eight MWC tournament champions have been eliminated in the opening round of the NCAA tournament. The most recent conference tournament champ to advance past the first round of the Big Dance was New Mexico in 2012, so keep an eye on that heading into Selection Sunday.
