-- The last time the top seed in the MWC actually won the tournament title prior to Boise State in 2022 was Nevada back in 2017. Utah State closed as a #2 seed in each of its two titles in 2019 and 2020, while San Diego State captured the 2018 championship as a #5 seed.
-- For the exception of 2020, the last eight MWC tournament champions have been eliminated in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.
