GAME DAY UPDATE: An hour before the Sugar Bowl kickoff, the latest move on this line is toward underdog Ole Miss. Georgia spent most of today at -6.5 (-105), but dipped to -6 early this evening.
The Bulldogs opened -6.5 on Dec. 20, briefly peaked at -7 (-115) a day later. Georgia spent most of the past 10 days at various iterations of -6.5, mixed in with a couple moves to -6.
"We're gonna need Ole Miss +6.5. There's heavy public action on Georgia, on top of a few large wagers," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said. "We would like to see this game stay Under, as well."
That said, the total is at a low point of 53.5, after opening at 56.5. The final two points of that movement came today, from 55.5 to 54.5/53.5.
SECOND UPDATE: Georgia has mostly stuck at -6.5 in Borgata Sports' College Football Playoff odds. The Bulldogs opened -6.5, spent a couple days early at -7 and since Wednesday have been fairly steady at -6.5, where the line sits Tuesday night.
"This game has seen very balanced action on the spread," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "An Ole Miss outright win here would be great, though, as there are more parlays tied to Georgia moneyline than any other side on Jan. 1."
The total is down to 55.5, with Gable noting Under money coming in at 56.5 and 56. Borgata has a small Over need at the moment.
FIRST UPDATE: DraftKings toggled between Georgia -6.5/-7 at various juice from Dec. 20-26. As of 4:30 p.m. ET Friday, it's Bulldogs -6.5 (-115), and it's all Georgia action on the spread, at 74% of bets/90% of money in College Football Playoff quarterfinals odds.
DK's total toggled several times between 55.5/56.5 before steadying at 56.5 on Dec. 23, then Thursday afternoon returned to 55.5. It's two-way play, with 55% of bets on the Over and money running almost dead even.
OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Georgia (12-1 SU/6-7 ATS) has won eight in a row since a 24-21 setback as a 2.5-point home favorite vs. Alabama. The Bulldogs avenged that setback with a 28-7 rout of 'Bama as 1.5-point favorites in the SEC Championship Game.
That allowed Georgia to gain the No. 3 seed and a first-round bye.
In the Sugar Bowl, the Bulldogs meet a familiar foe in SEC rival Ole Miss (12-1 SU/8-5 ATS). The No. 6 Rebels had no issues with No. 11 Tulane in the first round, rumbling to a 41-10 victory on Dec. 20.
Minutes after that result, DraftKings went up with Georgia as a 6.5-point favorite vs. Ole Miss in College Football Playoff quarterfinal odds. Two hours later, the line first adjusted to Bulldogs -6.5 (-115), then went to -7 (-105). At the same time, the total went from 55.5 to 56.5.

GAME DAY UPDATE: An hour before kickoff, Indiana is 7.5-point Rose Bowl chalk in BetMGM's CFP quarterfinal odds. Back on Dec. 19, the Hoosiers opened -6.5 (-115), and the line first touched -7.5 a day later.
Over the past few days, the line toggled between -7.5/-7 a couple times.
"The best result for BetMGM is gonna be Alabama covering +7, but Indiana winning. Indiana is a good futures team for us right now, and while we would get some parlays back on 'Bama outright, there is plenty of interest in Alabama moneyline today," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said.
The total just arrived at its low point of 46.5, moving off 47.5, after sitting at 48.5 from Dec. 19 until this morning. But Magee said the total isn't much of a decision.
SECOND UPDATE: As of 9:30 p.m. ET Tuesday, Indiana is laying 7 points in Borgata Sports' College Football Playoff quarterfinals odds market. That's up a tick from the Hoosiers -6.5 opener, with some back-and-forth over the past 10 days.
"This number has moved a bit between -6.5 and -7. But for the most part, the public is willing to lay the 7 with the Hoosiers," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "This one could end up being a decent size decision, with us needing the Crimson Tide.
"But there are a lot of parlays tied to Alabama."
FIRST UPDATE: Indiana is -6.5 (-115) in DraftKings' College Football Playoff second-round odds, as of 4:30 p.m. ET Friday. In fact, the line has been stuck there since Dec. 23, after opening at Hoosiers -6 and quickly climbing to -6.5/-7 on Dec. 19.
Spread tickets are dead even at DK, but 67% of spread money is on favored Indiana.
DraftKings' total saw all its movement within the first hour on Dec. 19. The number opened at 50.5 and made a stop at 49.5 on the way to 48.5, with no movement since. The Over is seeing 63% of bets/58% of money.
OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Alabama (11-3 SU/8-5-1 ATS) dug itself into a 17-0 hole just four minutes into the second quarter at Oklahoma. But the Crimson Tide scored the next 27 points and held on for a 34-24 victory as 1.5-point underdogs in a Dec. 19 first-round CFP game.
Meanwhile, Indiana (13-0 SU/8-5 ATS) was resting at home, in the middle of three weeks off after getting a bye as the No. 1 seed. The Hoosiers last played in the Big Ten Championship Game, edging Ohio State 13-10 as 3.5-point underdogs on Dec. 6.
After 'Bama's big comeback, DraftKings Sportsbook opened Indiana as a 6-point favorite for the Rose Bowl. It didn't take long for that to change, with the Hoosiers quickly going to -6.5 (-115), then getting to -7 (-105) in College Football Playoff quarterfinal odds.
The total was quickly on the move late on Dec. 20, as well, opening at 50.5 and making a stop at 49.5 on the way to 48.5.

GAME DAY UPDATE: Inside an hour before kickoff, BetMGM has Oregon -1.5 (-115) in CFP quarterfinal odds, moving off -2.5 this morning. On Dec. 20, the Ducks opened -1.5 (-105), and the line peaked at -2.5 (-115) on Sunday.
BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said Ohio State's New Year's Eve loss to Miami torched a mountain of parlays, making the Orange Bowl less of a concern.
"There's really good two-way action on this game today," Magee said. "We'll see how the rest of the action shapes up [in the last hour], but we've got no need on the side or the moneyline. Texas Tech and Oregon are both liabilities on the futures book, so no angle for the house there, either.
"We'll need Under 50.5, but that's about it."
The total is at 50.5 (Under -115), arriving there Wednesday after opening at 52.5 and going to 51.5 Monday.
SECOND UPDATE: Borgata Sports, a BetMGM shop in Atlantic City, opened Oregon -1.5 and is up to -3 in College Football Playoff quarterfinal odds.
"Oregon has been taking money on the spread since opening," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said Tuesday night. "This is the most lopsided game on the spread of the four playoff games.
"We will probably see some Texas Tech money come in. But right now, the Red Raiders are the need."
The total is at 51.5, down from a 52.5 opener.
FIRST UPDATE: With six days of action behind us and six more to come, Oregon is up to -2.5 (-105) in DraftKings' CFP quarterfinal odds. The Ducks opened -1.5, and the line quickly flipped to Texas A&M -1.5 on Dec. 20.
But late on Dec. 20, the spread returned to Oregon -1.5, then Dec. 23 advanced to -2.5 (-105). As of 4:30 p.m. ET Friday, the Ducks are netting 55% of early spread bets/75% of early spread money.
DK's total is pretty much pinned to 52.5, save for a few hours from Sunday into Monday at 53.5 (Under -115). The Over is taking 73% of bets/67% of money so far.
OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Texas Tech (12-1 SU/11-2 ATS) has been stout on the field and nearly as solid for bettors, sporting the best spread-covering mark in the nation. In the Big 12 Championship Game, the Red Raiders thumped BYU 34-7 laying 12.5 points.
With the win, Texas Tech nabbed the No. 4 seed and a bye in the CFP.
In the Orange Bowl, Texas Tech meets No. 5 Oregon (12-1 SU/9-4 ATS). The Ducks did what was expected in a Dec. 20 first-round game vs. James Madison, rumbling to a 51-34 victory. However, Oregon gave up a last-minute TD and failed to cover as a 20.5-point home favorite.
In the aftermath late night Dec. 20, DraftKings opened Oregon as a 1.5-point favorite vs. Texas Tech in College Football Playoff Second Round odds. Within 10 minutes, though, the favorite flipped to Texas A&M -1.5 (-102).
Cotton Bowl: Miami vs. Ohio State Odds
| Matchup | Spread | Total | Moneyline |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ohio State vs
Miami (FL) | -7.5 (-112)
+7.5 (-108) | o39.5 (-118)
u39.5 (-102) | -325 +260 |
- Opening point spread: Ohio State -8.5
- Opening moneyline: Ohio State -395/Miami +310
- Opening total: Over/Under 43.5 points scored
- Time: 7:30 p.m. ET Wednesday, Dec. 31 (ESPN)
GAME DAY UPDATE: The Buckeyes began the day as 9.5-point favorites in BetMGM's College Football Playoff Quarterfinals odds. But there was a rush of respected action on the underdog Hurricanes this afternoon, and Ohio State is now down to -7.5, an hour before kickoff.
On Dec. 20, the Buckeyes opened -9.5, then a day later climbed to -10. Ohio State then spent much of the past 10 days at -9.5 before today's notable dip.
"It's Pros vs. Joes in the first quarterfinal," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said. "Sharps have come in today on Miami, pushing this spread from Ohio State -9.5 to -7.5. Meanwhile, the public remains all over Ohio State to cover -7.5 and up to -9.5.
"We'll need Miami to cover, and Miami outright kills a ton of parlays. But Ohio State remains a big winner on the futures book, and Miami is still a liability."
The total is at a low of 40.5, after spending most of the past 11 days at 42.5, then dipping to 41.5/40.5 Monday.
SECOND UPDATE: Ohio State is pretty much pinned to -9.5 in Borgata Sports' CFP quarterfinal odds. The Buckeyes opened -9.5, briefly touched -10 and has been at -9.5 the past week, remaining there Tuesday night.
"We’ve seen decent two-way action on the spread. But between the bridge-jumpers wagering big money at -350 on Ohio State moneyline, and plenty of parlays running through Buckeyes moneyline, as well, a Miami upset would be a huge result in this game," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said.
Borgata's total is at 40.5, down from a 42.5 opener.
FIRST UPDATE: As of 4:30 p.m. ET Friday, DraftKings Sportsbook remains painted to Ohio State -9.5, stuck there since Dec. 21. All the movement so far came early, with the Buckeyes opening -8.5 on Dec. 20, quickly stretching to -9.5 and even touching -10 multiple times.
Early spread tickets are running 2/1 and early spread money 4/1 on Ohio State in DK's College Football Playoff quarterfinal odds.
DraftKings' total has been steady at 42.5 since Monday, matching the opener, but down from the 43.5 high point and 41.5 low point. It's two-way play, with 55% of tickets on the Over/51% of money on the Under.
OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Ohio State (12-1 SU/10-2-1 ATS) wasn't just one of the best teams on the field all season, but one of the best at the betting window. The Buckeyes were a nation-leading 10-1-1 ATS entering the Big Ten title game.
But Ohio State got knocked down a peg vs. Indiana, losing 13-10 as a 3.5-point favorite to halt a 7-1 ATS run. Still, Ryan Day's troops got the No. 2 seed and a bye in the CFP.
In the Cotton Bowl, the Buckeyes face No. 10 Miami (11-2 SU/8-5 ATS).
The Hurricanes outlasted No. 7 Texas A&M in a rock fight of a first-round game Dec. 20. Miami won 10-3 on a late touchdown, followed by a defensive stop on an interception in the end zone. Miami cashed as a 3-point road underdog.
Moments after the Hurricanes' win, DraftKings Sportsbook opened Ohio State as 8.5-point favorites vs. Miami. Within just a few minutes, the Buckeyes advanced to -9.5, while the total dipped from 43.5 to 42.5.
