KENTUCKY WILDCATS vs. OLE MISS REBELS BETTING PREDICTION

The Wildcats of Kentucky snuck by Northern Illinois last week, posting a 31-23 win despite being favored by nearly four touchdowns. Perhaps it was a case of Kentucky looking ahead to this matchup of teams ranked 11th or higher in The Associated Press' Top 25 poll. The non-cover was the first of the season for Kentucky after starting out 3-0 SU/ATS. It also cashed the OVER, the first after a 3-0 UNDER run.

Ole Miss also might have been glancing ahead on the schedule, looking rather sluggish against Tulsa in a non-conference game last week. The Rebels led 35-17 at halftime, which might have been why the fans of Hotty Toddy hit the exits at halftime to party in The Grove, thinking Lane Train's Rebs had things wrapped up. The Golden Hurricane outscored the Rebels 10-0 in the second half to make it a one-score game. Kiffin blasted the empty student section, and I am paraphrasing here, but he basically called the lack of fans an embarrassment, with a high school sized crowd in an SEC stadium. It's safe to say the students will be at full throat for this important matchup at 11 a.m. CT local time.

Ole Miss has doubled up Kentucky in the all-time series, leading 28-14-1, winning the past two meetings. Oddly enough, these two sides have met just twice since Nov. 5, 2011, Kentucky's last win in the series in Lexington. The Wildcats haven't won in Oxford since Oct. 14, 1979, losing six straight trips to Mississippi, with one game played in the capital city of Jackson.

Score Prediction: Kentucky 27, Ole Miss 21
Best Bet: Kentucky +7 (-108)
Best Bet: UNDER 54.5 (-108)

KENTUCKY WILDCATS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Wildcats have registered three non-conference wins, including two against MAC teams. So that's not terribly impressive, especially with Kentucky eking out a 31-23 win over Northern Illinois in rather unimpressive fashion. Remember, however, this team is battle tested, already going down to Florida, a place it hasn't played traditionally well, while scoring an impressive 26-16 win.

Kentucky has covered at a 3-1 ATS clip while the UNDER is 3-1 so far. Both outliers came in last week's game against NIU, which was most likely a case of looking ahead to a monumental game for the program. You can't blame Kentucky, as this is one of the biggest games in program history, and it's not like they lost last week - it found a way.

The Wildcats are 5-1-1 ATS in the past seven games overall dating back to last season, while going an amazing 23-7-2 ATS in the past 32 games against winning teams.

In terms of the total, the UNDER has cashed in four of the past five games overall, while going 11-4 in the past 15 on the road. The UNDER is 24-11 in the previous 35 conference games, too, including a cover and UNDER in that Florida game.

OLE MISS REBELS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Rebels have been one of the better rushing teams in the nation, a stark contrast to last season's team which saw QB Matt Corral throwing it all over the field. Ole Miss is averaging 280.8 yards per game on the ground, but it also helps facing the likes of Troy, Central Arkansas, Georgia Tech and Tulsa, not exactly a murderer's row so far. Kentucky allows 108.3 yards per game on the ground, and that's a huge area to watch.

Ole Miss doesn't go on long skids, especially against the number. The Rebels are 4-0 ATS in the past four games following a non-cover, and 11-5-1 ATS in the past 16 games against teams with a winning overall record. However, they're 1-4 ATS in the past five games in Oxford. They probably could use some more home support, right Lane?

For Ole Miss, like Kentucky, it's all about the UNDER lately. The UNDER has hit at an 11-1 clip across the past 12 games overall, while going 6-0 in the past six conference games and 8-0 in the past eight against winning teams. The UNDER is 7-1 in the past eight at home, too.
