WEEKEND UPDATE: As of 1:30 p.m. ET Saturday, Indiana is 8.5-point chalk at Hard Rock Bet, up from a -7.5 opener. Accounting for all bet types, point-spread play is running close to even, with 51% of tickets on Miami/54% of money on Indiana.

But moneyline play is much more so on underdog Miami, which is the visitor Monday night, while playing on its home field. A big reason for Hurricanes support: Hard Rock Bet draws much of its action from Florida, so there's regional bias creeping in.

The Hurricanes, currently +275 on the moneyline, are seeing 61% of moneyline tickets/79% of moneyline cash.

Further, Hard Rock has significant liability to Miami championship futures.

"An underdog, the biggest game of the year and the most polarizing team in Florida – all playing out in our backyard," Hard Rock Bet senior vice president Neil Walsh said. "Love them or hate them, the U has created a perfect storm that's driving historic engagement on our platform.

"Our customers have backed this team's championship potential all season. A Miami win would ignite a massive celebration, including what we project as the largest single-day payout in Hard Rock Bet history."

The total is at 47.5, with 83% of tickets and money on the Over.

LATE WEEK UPDATE: DraftKings Sportsbook has Indiana as an 8.5-point favorite at 3:30 p.m. ET Friday. In fact, the number has been almost exclusively at Hoosiers -8.5 since Monday, save for about 90 minutes earlier today at -7.5 (-115), after opening at -7.5.

It is all Indiana on the spread at DK, with 74% of early tickets and 82% of early money on the Hoosiers. In moneyline action, 68% of early tickets/56% of early dollars are on Indiana.

DraftKings' total opened at 48.5 and has been at 47.5 since Tuesday. The Over is netting 75% of early bets/54% of early money.

MIDWEEK UPDATE: As of 6 p.m. ET Tuesday, Indiana is out to 8.5-point chalk in Borgata Sports' College Football Playoff championship game odds. That's up from a -7.5 opener after the semifinals wrapped on Friday night.

"I realize the lookahead number at some books for this game was Indiana -5.5. But opening at 7.5, it was one-way traffic on the Hoosiers. They are a very public side here," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said.

"You’ll get some people to buy back on Miami. And once limits get raised even more, it will be interesting to see how much Miami money comes in. But in the early going, it’s been pretty lopsided."

Borgata's total is at 48.5 from a 47.5 opener.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 1 Indiana (15-0 SU/10-5 ATS) totally took No. 5 Oregon to the woodshed in Friday night's Peach Bowl. The Hoosiers led 35-7 at halftime en route to a 56-22 trucking as 3-point favorites.

It's the second straight CFP wipeout win for Indiana, which blasted No. 9 Alabama 38-3 in the quarterfinals.

No. 10 Miami (12-2 SU/9-5 ATS) went down to the last play of its semifinal to reach the national title game. The Hurricanes got a 3-yard touchdown run from QB Carson Beck with 18 seconds, then held on to beat Ole Miss 31-27 laying 3.5 points in Thursday's Fiesta Bowl.

In those final seconds, Trinidad Chambliss drove the Rebels to the Miami 35-yard line. But Chambliss' final pass fell incomplete in the back corner of the end zone.

So Miami will play on its home field at Hard Rock Stadium for the national title on Jan. 19.

FanDuel Sportsbook posted College Football Playoff championship odds at halftime of the Oregon-Indiana game. The Hoosiers opened -7.5 (even) at FanDuel, and other books followed suit in opening Indiana at various iterations of -7.5.

However, Circa Sports waited until Oregon-Indiana wrapped up, then opened at Indiana -7 (-125) postgame. That was perhaps in order to do a little price discovery, as Circa is renowned for seeking out and getting sharp action. A short time later, the Hoosiers were bet up to -7.5 flat.

The total moved almost immediately at Circa, from 47 to 48.
