LATEST UPDATE: LSU is laying 10 points in BetMGM's college football Week 1 odds, as of 6 p.m. ET, 90 minutes pre-kickoff. Back in May, LSU opened -10.5, then spent pretty much all of June at -11.5 before a backoff down to -9.5.

Over the past three weeks, the line toggled between LSU -9.5/-10/-10.5, with the most recent move coming Monday, from -10.5 to -10. Regardless of the number, it's all purple Tigers tonight.

"All the money is on the LSU Tigers to win and cover the 10-point spread. It's three times the amount of money on the -10 than the +10," BetMGM trading manager Adair Horne said, while noting moneyline play – surely much of it moneyline parlays – is heavy to LSU, too.

"The book will be chasing a Clemson upset."

The total is at its low point of 49.5, down from 50.5 this morning and a 51.5 opener. But Horne said action is fairly even.

FOURTH UPDATE: Hard Rock Bet has LSU at -10.5 (-105), as of 2:30 p.m. ET Thursday. Months ago, LSU opened -10.5 and got as high as -12.5 in July, but the number got as low as -9.5 a couple times in early and late August. LSU returned to -10.5 on Wednesday.

Spread tickets are running dead even at Hard Rock, a 50/50 split. But LSU is taking 65% of early spread money.

"A Clemson victory would be great for the book. We have mixed action on the spread. But LSU has been one of our most popular moneyline selections this week, as the public backs a debut win for new coach Lane Kiffin," Hard Rock senior director-communications Jon Chapper said.

The total opened and is currently 50.5, though it spent the back half of August at 51.5. Early action is actually heavy on the Under, at 80% of bets/84% of money.

THIRD UPDATE: LSU is laying 10.5 points at Borgata Sports, which matches the opener for this ACC/SEC showdown. But there's been movement up and down on this line, with interest picking up.

"This is the most heavily bet game of the Week 1 slate," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "The game has been [up] for more than four months, and the spread has ranged from as low as LSU -9.5 to as high as -11.5.

"While Lane Kiffin has been the one in the headlines for LSU, as he tries to bring in NFL-experienced players, [QB] Sam Leavitt being fully healthy for LSU is what really matters for this team."

Leavitt suffered a foot injury late in the 2025 season, while playing for Arizona State. He transferred to LSU in January.

"Clemson will go with [QB] Christopher Vizzina, who has been watching from the sidelines, but gets his chance come Saturday. I believe we will probably need Clemson to cover the 10.5."

SECOND UPDATE: In Lane Kiffin's LSU debut, his Tigers are 10.5-point favorites as of Sunday night, six days pre-kick. This line has bounced around at DraftKings, opening at LSU -11.5, bottoming out at -9.5 in early August, then going to -10.5 on Aug. 26.

Early spread action is pretty interesting. It's two-way ticket count with a modest lean toward LSU, at 54%, but underdog Clemson is nabbing 75% of money.

DraftKings' total is at 51.5 (Under -118), moving off the 50.5 opener in mid-August. The Over is seeing 71% of early bets, while 96% of early cash is on the Under.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: There's a new sheriff in town at LSU, with Lane Kiffin jumping from Ole Miss. LSU fired coach Brian Kelly on Oct. 26, in the middle of a season-killing 1-4 SU slide.

The Tigers finished 7-6 SU/4-9 ATS, including a 38-35 loss catching 1.5 points vs. Houston in the Texas Bowl.

Clemson was similarly disappointing last year, going 7-6 SU/5-8 ATS. Dabo Swinney's outfit finished with a 22-10 loss as a 2.5-point favorite vs. Penn State in the Pinstripe Bowl.

LATEST UPDATE: Oregon is a 25-point favorite in BetMGM's college football odds Week 1 market, at 2:30 p.m. ET, an hour before kickoff. That's up a tick from the Ducks -24.5 opener. No surprise, it's all No. 2 Oregon on the spread.

"Oregon is a popular play today on the spread, as is the Over. We'll need Boise State to cover and to keep this under the total," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said.

The total is at 51.5, down from a 52.5 opener. Still, there's plenty of interest in the Over, and BetMGM will surely want to see a lower-scoring affair.

FOURTH UPDATE: As of 2:30 p.m. ET Thursday, two days ahead of kickoff, Hard Rock Bet has Oregon as a 25.5-point home favorite. That's up from the Ducks -24.5 opener, with the line toggling between -24.5/-25.5 a few times over the past three weeks.

The most recent move came Thursday morning, from Oregon -24.5 (-115) to -25.5 flat. The Ducks are taking a relatively modest 61% of spread bets, but those tickets translate into 87% of spread money.

"We are going to be cheering on Boise State in this one. An outright win would be great, but we'll be happy if Boise can keep it close," said Jon Chapper, Hard Rock Bet senior director-communications.

"The line has moved from 24.5 to 25.5, but that's not stopping the flow of bets on Oregon to cover."

Hard Rock's total is at 51.5 after opening at 52.5. Still, it's heavy Over action so far, at 83% of bets/94% of cash.

THIRD UPDATE: At 6 p.m. ET Monday, Oregon is hefty 24.5-point chalk in College Football Odds Week 1 at Borgata Sports, a BetMGM property in Atlantic City. In fact, the number hasn't moved off Ducks -24.5 in the couple months it's been on the board.

"While we haven’t seen any movement, it’s been mostly public Oregon money laying the big spread," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "Boise isn’t exactly a cupcake for Oregon to start the season, as the Broncos certainly have a shot to come out of the Pac-12.

"But on paper, this Ducks team is far superior talent-wise, on both sides of the ball."

Gable also noted the total is down to 51.5 from a 53.5 opener.

SECOND UPDATE: As of Sunday, six days before kickoff, Oregon is a massive 24.5-point home favorite in DraftKings Sportsbook's College Football Week 1 odds. That's what the number has been at from the get-go.

Action is surely a small fraction of what this game will ultimately attract. That said, practically all the early spread tickets and dollars at DK are on the Ducks.

DraftKings' total opened at 52.5 and on Aug. 27 dipped to 51.5 (Over -118). Almost all the bets are on the Over, but money is nearly dead even.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Oregon is No. 2 in the AP preseason poll, again expected to contend for the national title. Last season, the Ducks went 13-2 SU/9-6 ATS, reaching the College Football Playoff semifinals.

However, in that round, Oregon was a 3.5-point pup and got pounded by eventual champion Indiana 56-22.

Boise State went 9-5 SU/8-6 ATS last year, winning the Mountain West title in the process. But the Broncos ended on a losing note, falling to Washington 38-10 as 9.5-point underdogs in the LA Bowl.

Then Boise moved into the remade Pac-12, which now includes just two original Pac-12 outfits: Oregon State and Washington State.

LATEST UPDATE: As of 2:30 p.m. ET Thursday, Notre Dame is -20.5 (-115) in Hard Rock Bet's college football odds Week 1 market. In fact, the Fighting Irish have pretty much been painted to -20.5 since opening, save for a couple short stints at -21.5.

It's actually two-way spread play at the moment, with a slight lean toward the Irish, at 54% of tickets/52% of money. And with a juicy +850 price on the underdog, Wisconsin is seeing 68% of tickets/63% of cash on the moneyline.

Hard Rock's total is at 46.5 (Over -115), down from a 47.5 opener. The Under is netting 59% of tickets/66% of cash so far.

SECOND UPDATE: Notre Dame is painted to -20.5 in Borgata Sports' College Football Week 1 odds, with no movement since opening.

"It’s been mostly public Irish money on the spread and a little bit more on the Over right now," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "Whether this spread gets over three touchdowns remains to be seen, but the public love the Irish thus far."

The total hasn't moved off 47.5.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 4 Notre Dame was a bride left at the altar in last season's College Football Playoff. The Fighting Irish lost their first two games, then won 10 in a row, but got edged out by Miami for the final spot in the 12-team field.

Notre Dame then opted not to accept a bowl bid, finishing the season 10-2 SU/6-6 ATS.

Wisconsin is coming off a dismal 4-8 SU campaign (6-6 ATS). After winning their first two outings, the Badgers went on a six-game nosedive before going 2-2 SU/3-1 ATS in their final four games.

LATEST UPDATE: The Rebels are -6.5 (-120) at Hard Rock Bet, as of 2:30 p.m. ET Thursday. That's right where Ole Miss opened months ago, but the Rebels spent much of Monday at -7.5 (even), then returned to -6.5 Tuesday.

It's two-way action on the spread at Hard Rock, with 52% of bets on Ole Miss and 54% of money on Louisville.

The total is at 55.5 (Under -115), up from a 54.5 opener. But early action leans toward the Under, at 60% of bets/66% of dollars.

SECOND UPDATE: Ole Miss is -7 in Borgata's Week 1 college football odds, as of 6:30 p.m. ET Monday. That's down a notch from the Rebels -7.5 opener and up from the -6.5 low point.

This is the only meeting of two ranked teams in CFB Week 1 odds, with Ole Miss No. 9 and Louisville No. 24.

"We’ve taken some decent action on Trinidad Chambliss to win the Heisman. I’m doubtful that was due to the advertising campaign Ole Miss took out to hype him on the Sphere in Vegas," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said.

"While everyone is looking a couple weeks ahead to Ole Miss' matchup with LSU, the Rebels can’t look past Louisville, which legitimately could have been a one- or two-loss team in the regular season last year."

Borgata's total is up to 55.5 from a 54.5 opener.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Ole Miss made a semi-surprising run at the CFP championship last season, going 13-2 SU/9-6 ATS. Behind QB Trinidad Chambliss, the Rebels got all the way to the semis, then fell just short to Miami 31-27 as 3.5-point 'dogs.

Chambliss returns this season, but coach Lane Kiffin left for LSU even before Mississippi's CFP run. Pete Golding took over as coach for the Rebels, who are No. 9 in the AP presesaon poll.

No. 24 Louisville was in the CFP conversation after a 7-1 start last year. However, a late-season three-game slide ended that discussion. The Cardinals finished 9-4 SU, capped by a 27-22 win over Toledo in the Boca Raton Bowl.

But as was the case much of the season, the Cards (4-9 ATS) failed to cover as 12.5-point favorites.

Louisville vs. Ole Miss odds are slightly impacted by this being another Week 1 neutral-site game, taking place in Nashville. Check back later for more on this Top 25 matchup.

SMU vs. Florida State Odds

LATEST UPDATE: Southern Methodist is now out to -3.5 (+105) in Hard Rock Bet's college football Week 1 odds, as of 2:30 p.m. ET Thursday. That's up from the SMU -2.5 opener and -1.5 low point seen for a couple stretches, in June and July.

The line has moved to SMU -3.5 a couple times, all in the past few days and most recently on Thursday afternoon. And it's all Mustangs on the spread so far at Hard Rock, at 91% of bets/96% of money.

"No surprise, we are going to be Florida State fans this week, as our customers continue to bet on the SMU cover," said Jon Chapper, Hard Rock Bet senior director-communications.

The total is at 53.5 (Under -115), after opening at 52.5 (Over -115). The Over is landing 71% of early bets/78% of early cash.

"The Over has been very popular," Chapper said.

SECOND UPDATE: Florida State (1-0 SU/0-1 ATS) already has a game under its belt, though not necessarily an impressive one. The Seminoles topped lightweight New Mexico State 34-17, miles short of covering as huge 31.5-point home favorites.

As of 6:30 p.m. ET Tuesday, SMU is a 3-point road favorite for a Monday night game, the finale in college football Week 1 odds. That's up a tick from opener of Mustangs -2.5.

"We have already seen Florida State in action in Week 0, and they didn’t come close to covering against New Mexico State," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "In fact, that game was still a 10-point game with less than five minutes remaining.

"The Seminoles' defense has a lot to improve upon after that effort, but has over a week to fix things. After that game, we saw some SMU money show up laying the 2.5, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see this possibly get to 3.5."

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Florida State is coming off two straight lackluster seasons, though last year's 5-7 SU record was a substantial upgrade from 2-10 SU in 2024-25. Still, the Seminoles lost three of their last four, including a 40-21 setback getting 1.5 points at Florida.

That gave the 'Noles a 5-7 ATS mark, as well.

Meanwhile, SMU went 9-4 SU/6-7 ATS last season. The Mustangs wrapped up the year with a 24-19 Holiday Bowl victory laying 2.5 points vs. Arizona.

LATEST UPDATE: At 8:40 p.m. ET Friday, 20 minutes pre-kick, Miami is 24.5-point chalk in BetMGM's college football Week 1 odds. The Hurricanes spent a good chunk of the summer at -22.5, then went to -23.5 on Aug. 9 and -24.5 on Aug. 18.

By Thursday, the line briefly dipped to 'Canes -23 (-115), but then rebounded to its high point of 25 (-105) this afternoon. It's solid Miami action on the spread, at 65% of bets/75% of money.

"Miami by 1-23 will be our best result. And we want the Under," BetMGM trading manager Tristan Davis said.

BetMGM's total opened at 49.5 and is down to 46.5, reaching that point this afternoon. However, the Over is seeing 72% of bets/74% of cash.

OPENING UPDATE: At Hard Rock Bet, Miami is -23.5 (-115) as of noon ET Friday, nine hours before kickoff. That's up from the Hurricanes -21.5 opener, but down from the -24.5 high point, with the move to -23.5 coming Friday morning.

The big news in this game at Hard Rock is one bettor piling on Miami moneyline. That customer made two bets: First, a $100,000 play on Miami -2000, then a few days later another $200,000 at -2000.

At those odds, the return on investment is nominal, wagering $300,000 to win just $15,000. It seems like a sure thing, with Miami ranked No. 7 after finishing as the runner-up in last year's College Football Playoff.

But perhaps a sweat awaits tonight in Palo Alto, Calif.

LATEST UPDATE: At 9:30 p.m. ET Saturday, 30 minutes before kickoff, UNLV is 5-point home chalk in BetMGM's College Football Week 1 odds. The Rebels opened -3.5 back and got as high as -6.5 for a stretch earlier this month.

However, the number went to UNLV -5.5 on Aug. 17, then -4.5 Sunday and -4 Friday. It returned to Rebels -4.5 in just the past hour, then advanced to -5.

"UNLV is a decent loser for us, and as always, bettors want the Over. So Memphis and Under are the best way home for us," BetMGM trading manager Adair Horne said.

The total is at 55.5, down from a 58.5 opener. But as Horne noted, the public is almost always on the Over.

FOURTH UPDATE: This number is seeing notable change over the past few days. DraftKings Sportsbook is now down to UNLV -4.5, after opening -3.5 back in mid-July and climbing to -6 by Aug. 5. The line dipped to -5.5 on Aug. 20, then went to -4.5 on Tuesday.

Spread play has become much more two-way, corresponding with the line move toward Memphis. UNLV is seeing 53% of early bets/56% of early money.

DraftKings' total is down to 56.5 from a 59.5 opener, with stops at 58.5/57.5 along the way. The Over is nabbing 76% of early bets, but 75% of early cash is on the Under.

THIRD UPDATE: As of 8 p.m. ET Monday, UNLV is 5.5-point home chalk in Borgata Sports, college football odds Week 1 market. That's well up from the opener of Rebels -3.5, but down from the -6.5 high point, dipping to -5.5 on Aug. 17.

"UNLV comes into this season with a lot of optimism around a chance to get into the CFP as the Group of 6 representative," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "The early money has pretty much been on the Rebels and the Under.

"There has been plenty of turnover on both of these rosters. But the hype in the offseason has been around UNLV, and so far, the betting interest in this one has followed suit."

Borgata's total is down to 56.5 from a 58.5 opener.

SECOND UPDATE: UNLV is laying 5.5 points in DraftKings Sportsbook's college football odds Week 1 market. On July 13, the Rebels opened -3.5 (-115), and the line jumped to -4.5 (-115) on July 21. UNLV peaked at -6, at various juice, from Aug. 5-Aug. 20.

Early spread tickets are running almost dead even, but the host Rebels are netting 68% of early spread money. Moneyline action is solidly on UNLV, as well.

DK's total is at 57.5, sitting there since Aug. 6, after opening at 59.5 and making a stop at 58.5. The Over is landing 79% of bets so far, but 82% of cash is on the Under.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: For decades, UNLV was a college football wasteland. But the Rebels are riding three straight seasons of nine or more wins, including a 10-4 SU campaign in 2025-26 (7-7 ATS).

In fact, UNLV was 10-2 in the regular season. But the Rebels lost to Boise State 38-21 catching 5.5 points in the Mountain West title game, then fell to Ohio 17-10 laying 6.5 points in the Frisco Bowl.

Memphis went 8-1 SU and ATS in its first nine games last year, spurring the prospect of a possible Group of 6 College Football Playoff berth. But the Tigers tumbled from there, losing their final three regular-season games.

Then in the Gasparilla Bowl, Memphis got blasted by North Carolina State 31-7 as a 3.5-point 'dog, finishing the season at 8-5 SU and ATS.

BetMGM opened UNLV -3.5 in college football Week 1 odds, and the Rebels are now nearly double that at -6.5 (-105). Early spread play has 62% of bets/64% of cash on UNLV.

The total is down to 56.5 (Over -115) from a 58.5 opener. Early action is light and disparate, with 68% of bets on the Over/87% of money on the Under.

LATEST UPDATE: At 11 a.m. ET, an hour before kickoff in Dublin, Ireland, TCU is down to -7.5 in BetMGM's College Football Week 0 odds (as some call them, rather than Week 1). Earlier today, the Horned Frogs briefly flirted with -9.5, but is down 2 points since then.

That's after TCU opened months ago as 6.5-point neutral-site chalk for this matchup.

"Sharps pushed this number up," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said. "No real need on the spread, but we've taken more tickets on UNC moneyline than TCU. As it stands, we'd like to see TCU win outright in a high-scoring affair.

"There's almost double the interest on the Under than the Over."

BetMGM's total opened at 49.5 and is down to 46.5.

THIRD UPDATE: TCU is out to 7.5-point chalk as of 8 p.m. ET Monday at Borgata Sports, a BetMGM property in Atlantic City. The Horned Frogs opened -6.5.

"It has been another tough summer for the Tar Heels, after a disappointing opening season from Bill Belichick that was marred by more off-the-field news and gossip than actual football news," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said.

"We’ve seen this game get bet up to TCU -7.5, as the money came in on the Horned Frogs. Last season, TCU blew out UNC in the season opener and crushed all of the excitement for the start of the Belichick era at Chapel Hill.  This year, we get the season opener overseas in Ireland."

Borgata's total has been on the move, as well, after opening at 49.5.

"We’ve seen some respected money hit the Under within the last week, driving the total down to 47.5," Gable said.

SECOND UPDATE: On Aug. 22, a week out from this season opener, TCU is -7.5 (-118) in DraftKings Sportsbook's college football Week 1 odds. That's up from the mid-July opener of Horned Frogs -6.5 (-112), moving to -7 on Aug. 3 and -7.5 on Aug. 6.

It's heavy TCU spread play so far, at 75% of early bets/89% of early money.

DraftKings' total is at 47.5 (Under -112), down from a 49.5 opener, with moves to 48.5 on July 31 and 47.5 on Aug. 9. Counter to that move, though, 66% of bets/74% of dollars are on the Over.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: If odds are any indication, then the start of Bill Belichick's second year at North Carolina could prove as bumpy as Year 1. The Tar Heels went 4-8 SU/5-7 ATS, ending the season on slides of 0-3 SU and 0-4 ATS.

Texas Christian was far better, at 9-4 SU/7-6 ATS. The Horned Frogs capped the season with 30-27 Alamo Bowl victory as 4.5-point underdogs vs. USC.

Last season began with Belichick's troops getting waxed by TCU 48-14 as 3.5-point home underdogs. So there's certainly a revenge factor for the Heels in this extremely neutral-site game, in Dublin, Ireland.

However, the Horned Frogs are already laying more than a touchdown. BetMGM opened TCU as 6.5-point chalk, and on Aug. 19, the line is out to TCU -7.5 (-115) in the college football odds Week 1 market.

Ten days pre-kickoff, action is surely very light. But it's all TCU on the spread, at 92% of early tickets/94% of early money.

BetMGM opened the total at 49.5 and got bet down to 47.5. That said, it's two-way play, with 60% of bets on the Under/63% of money on the Over.
