The PGA Tour season is upon us, and in a blink of the eye we will be gearing up for the first golf major of the year, The Masters. Prediction markets don't only offer odds for various PGA events on the golf schedule, they also offer odds for a golfer to win any major this season.

What is a major in golf? Four tournament count as majors in professional golf, and they are as follows (with the host course in parentheses):

• The PGA Championship (Aronimink Golf Club)

• The Open Championship (Royal Birkdale Golf Club)

Odds to Win a Major in 2026

These odds will change as the season goes, but there is no doubt that Scottie Scheffler will remain the favorite as the season progresses. He won the American Express Open in his 2026 debut, and it is only a matter of time before more wins come his way.

Another compelling name is Rory McIlroy. He has already won every major at least once, completing the career Grand Slam last season when he beat Justin Rose in a playoff to win The Masters.

How to Trade on a Golfer to Win a Major

How Does Trading Work on Kalshi?

The concept of trading on Kalshi is pretty simple. Imagine you want to trade on Scottie Scheffler to win a Major this season:

• Yes Contract: Priced at $0.56
• No Contract: Priced at $0.44

If you buy a "Yes" contract for $0.56 and your prediction is correct, you’ll earn $1, giving you a profit of $0.44. This setup mirrors traditional commodity futures trading, which encourages users to make informed predictions based on market trends and current events. Like any other financial marketplace, it's all about finding hidden value and taking advantage of market perceptions.

I do not think that Joaquin Niemann will win a major this season. Not only has his talent taken a hit since he moved to LIV, but he has only qualified for 2 of the 4 majors. This really hurts his chances of winning a major, given that he will only have 2 shots at winning. Here is how this works:

• I buy 100 shares of Joaquin Niemann to not win a Major this season, costing me $8.60.
• If he does not win a major, all of those shares will be worth $1. This means my position is now worth $100, since I purchased $100 shares.
• This means with an original purchase of 100 shares of Niemann to not win a major that cost $8.60, I will win $100.
• If he does win a major, my $100 shares will be worth nothing.
