Ketel Marte to Hit a Home Run (+450 | bet365) vs. (SP: Yu Darvish)
The Diamondbacks will take on the San Diego Padres tonight, as each team looks drastically different after the 2025 MLB Trade Deadline.
Arizona came away as one of the league’s few sellers, shipping away the biggest prize in Eugenio Suarez along with Merrill Kelly, Josh Naylor, and Randal Grichuk.
Conversely, no team in baseball was more aggressive than San Diego – nothing exemplified that aggression more than the deal to acquire A’s closer Mason Miller.
Tonight, we target one of baseball’s best hitters in Ketel Marte, who has a ridiculous 1.036 OPS from the left side. He’ll take on Yu Darvish, who has been able to limit the long ball but will most certainly have a short leash. Since coming back from injury, Darvish has exceeded 70 pitches just twice.
With odds as high as +450 at bet365 Sportsbook, that number is just too high to pass up the way Marte has been swinging the bat in 2025.
Wyatt Langford to Hit a Home Run (+560 | FanDuel) vs. (SP: Will Warren)
No team is colder than the New York Yankees. Ever since MVP favorite, Aaron Judge, went down, the Yanks have been slowly falling apart.
After winning in dramatic fashion, we’ll pick one of Texas’s steadiest producers in Wyatt Langford.
The once highly-touted prospect has equally encouraging power numbers against both righties and lefties (.394 SLG vs. .427 SLG, respectively), so he is not a pinch-hit risk and can be a threat to go deep against bullpen arms.
The Yankees will trot out Will Warren, who has allowed six homers in his last six starts. Warren has shown flashes but has struggled to limit hard contact (22nd percentile via Baseball Savant).
Although the power numbers have cooled off, Langford is still a solid power hitter in a great spot against Warren with a nice +560 number at FanDuel Sportsbook.
Freddie Freeman to Hit a Home Run (+420 | FanDuel) vs. (SP: Miles Mikolas)
For our last pick, we’ll go with the ageless wonder, Freddie Freeman. Despite being in his age-35 season, Freeman is showing no signs of slowing down with a .305 average, .866 OPS, and 61 RBIs.
Although Freeman isn’t the slugger some of his teammates like Ohtani, Muncy, or Will Smith are, he’s still posting a staggering .921 OPS against right-handers with a .202 ISO. The matchup doesn’t get any better than Miles Mikolas, who relinquished nine home runs in five July starts. According to Baseball Savant, Mikolas is in the 5th percentile in Barrel%, 3rd percentile in Whiff%, and 37th percentile in Hard Hit%.
