The Atlanta Braves head to California with a 2-1 series lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers, as the clubs get ready for Game 4 on Tuesday afternoon. Opening pitch is set for 8:08 p.m. ET and will air on TBS from Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, California.
Atlanta fans are used to heartbreak at this point, but it still hurt to see the Braves blow the chance to take a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS.
The Braves took a 5-2 lead into the eighth inning before Cody Bellinger hit an impossible pitch over the fence for a three-run blast. Mookie Betts hit a double to drive in Chris Taylor and give the Dodgers a 6-5 lead a few batters later, allowing Kenley Jansen to strike out the side in the ninth to give the World Series champions their first win of the series.
Even if the Braves pull off the upset in Game 4, the Dodgers won’t be too concerned after they erased a 3-1 deficit against Atlanta in last year’s NLCS.
The Dodgers are a sizeable favorite on Wednesday with 20-game winner Julio Urias on the mound. Atlanta has yet to announce a starter for Game 4, but it’s assumed that Drew Smyly and Huascar Ynoa will play a major role in what is likely to be a bullpen game. Urias should be a difference maker as the Dodgers even the series.
