NBA Christmas Day Prop Bets

Golden State at Phoenix (ABC, 5:00 p.m. ET)

Pick: Deandre Ayton Over 0.5 Blocks (-170)

It's Christmas day, and what better way to celebrate than betting on your favorite NBA player to pile up some nice defensive stats. Whether you guys wanna play these as singles, or in a palray, here are some of my favorite defense player props pieces this weekend.

Deandre Ayton has really asserted himself as a premier center in the NBA. After last year's impressive playoff run, Ayton has continued that momentum, averaging 17.3 points per game, 11.3 rebounds per game, averaging almost a block per game. He played Golden State this year, he proceeded to have 2 blocks in both games. Golden State is led by Curry from the perimeter, but Golden State has multiple inside scorers which should give Ayton plenty of opportunities. He has 9 blocks over his last 7 games, and we only need him to come down with 1 here today.

Dallas at Utah (ESPN, 10:30 p.m. ET)

Matchup: Jalen Brunson Over 1.5 Turnovers (-170)

Now switching over to the otherside of the ball, let's look at some turnovers. Jalen Brunson is someone who I don't normally target in these categories. He's someone who is generally very cautious with the ball, usually making smart passes. That being said, the pure amount of volume is taking over anything else. While Brunson is comfortable handling the ball, hes played 38, 39, 40, and 39 minutes over the last couple games due to injury and hit this mark in every game, turning the ball over 11 times during the span.

Not only is Brunson handling much more of the burden than usual, but he is now facing a really tough defense with the Jazz. They have recently forced 3 from Russell, 4 from Lamelo Ball, 2 from Dinwiddie and Beal, 2 from Murray, and 2 from Reggie Jackson over the last 5 games. This Jazz defense is one of the best in basketball, they have forced at least 2 turnovers in 5 straight and there is no reason to not expect a 6th today.
