Dallas Mavericks vs. Phoenix Suns Predictions

These two teams played just the other night and the Suns won by seven however, they didn't cover the spread which was -8 to -8.5 and tonight we believe they will smoke Dallas. The Suns have two streaks on the line, a 10 game winning streak and a seven game winning streak in this series.

The Mavs might be be without Luka Doncic and that is going to be tough to matchup against on the road vs the red hot Suns. Mavs just 2-7 ATS their last nine trips to Phoenix and just 7-20 ATS the last 27 overall meetings.

Dallas Mavericks Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 9-5
  • ATS: 6-8
  • O/U: 4-9-1

The Mavericks are looking to avenge a 98-105 loss to the Suns, but it will be difficult without Doncic in the lineup. Dallas hasn't been lifeless without Doncic though, winning a tough home game against the Nuggets. However, the Suns are on a historic winning streak for the franchise and expected to start their typical lineup.

Kristaps Porzingis has been solid when Doncic is out, recording a double-double in 10 of the last 14 games when All-Star point guard is inactive. Tim Hardaway, Jr. has also scored 19 points or more in five of his last six games when Doncic is inactive. So the pieces for Dallas to compete are still there even without their leader, but it will be an uphill battle for a team that is below .500 on the ATS and playing a hot team on the road.

There is a chance Doncic plays, as he is upgraded to DTD, but it's still not worth the risk even if he plays - as he will likely be on restrictions. This is a game to check the lineup prior though, as the spread may be influenced if Doncic is ready to go.

Phoenix Suns Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 11-3
  • ATS: 8-6
  • O/U: 4-10

The Suns have now won 10 straight games, and its hard not to see them hit 11 here. Besides the Mavs missing their best player, the Suns' top players typically perform well inside Footprint. Devin Booker has scored 27 points or more in eight of his lat 12 game when playing in Phoenix, while Chris Paul has seen 10 or more assists in five of his last six games inside Footprint.

Paul averages over 10 assists per game this season, Prozingis will have his hands full with Deandre Ayton who has seen 12 or more rebounds in four of his last five games. The Suns might be smart play against in the first quarter, despite winning the game (hypothetically). Phoenix has won the first half in six of its last seven games, so plus-value to lose the first quarter or half might be a better wager for those looking to bet against the Suns' trends.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Phoenix Suns Head-to-Head

Phoenix won the last meeting on Wednesday night, and won four straight against the Mavericks prior. The total has gone UNDER in four of the last five meetings, while the underdog has actually cover three straight as well.

Key Players to Watch

  • DAL: Tim Hardaway Jr. - SF (15.1 ppg)
  • DAL: Kristaps Porzingis - C (19.4 ppg, 7.9 rpg)
  • PHO: Devin Booker - SG (23 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 5.1 apg)
  • PHO: Chris Paul - PG (14.1 ppg, 10.5 apg)

Dallas Mavericks vs. Phoenix Suns Betting Conclusion

The under is not a bad play if the ATS market is weary for you. The under has cashed in four of the last five meetings, while Phoenix has gone under in four straight games along with 10 of the last 14. The Mavericks have failed to cover the spread in six of seven as the underdog however, so taking the Suns is still a fine play.

Again, if the Suns worry you then try playing against the trend of Phoenix winning the first half in six of seven games. Check the lineup before, with all this said however. Doncic is currently DTD and therefore presents a chance (small) to play on Friday night.

Dallas Mavericks vs. Phoenix Suns Betting Trends

  • Dallas has failed to cover the spread in six of seven games as the underdog.
  • Phoenix has won the first half in six of seven games.
  • Phoenix has won 10 straight games.
  • The underdog has covered the spread in three straight meetings.
