BROOKLYN NETS VS. WASHINGTON WIZARDS PREDICTIONS

After finishing eighth in the East with a record of 34-38 SU last year, Washington briefly kept that same ball rolling with another strong start to this season, as the Knicks opened with a sturdy 10-3 SU and 9-4 ATS run– despite getting tagged as underdogs in seven of those affairs.

The Wizards’ marginal depth has been on full display since that opening stretch though, considering Washington is just 14-26 SU and 11-28-1 across their last 40 games – most recently highlighted by double-digit losses in four-of-five matchups since the season-ending injury to three-time All-Star Bradley Beal.

On the other hand, Brooklyn absolutely dominated to start the season, as the Nets kicked things off with an impressive 26-14 SU run – with 15 of those victories coming by eight points or more.

The last few weeks have been incredibly shaky without Kevin Durant though, considering the Nets are averaging just 110.7 PPG at home and 108.8 PPG on the road across their latest 3-11 SU skid – which primarily stems from the inconsistent participation of Kyrie Irving and James Harden.

I’ll back Brooklyn here, as despite entering Thursday riding a frustrating 6-14 SU skid, the Nets have still averaged 111.7 PPG offensively across their latest 20-game stretch – likely presenting a steep uphill battle for a short-handed Wizards squad that’s scored 100 PTS or less in five of their last seven matchups (97.3 PPG).

BROOKLYN NETS BETTING ANALYSIS

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 29-25
  • ATS: 20-33-1
  • O/U: 25-28-1

After stumbling out to a head-scratching 2-3 SU to the season, the Nets quickly settled into a rhythm during the early stages of November, as Brooklyn boasts a sturdy record of 29-25 SU – yet still ranks near the bottom of the barrel ATS at 20-33-1.

The Nets have played awful since KD’s latest injury, as Brooklyn sits just 3-11 SU across their last 14 games, which includes a 2-7 SU tally in road matchups with Kyrie – and a 1-4 SU mark in home matchups without him. Despite their latest struggles though, I still like Brooklyn in Thursday’s matchup against a Wizards squad that’s posted double-digit losses in three-of-four matchups since Beal’s season-ending injury.

WASHINGTON WIZARDS BETTING ANALYSIS

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 24-29
  • ATS: 20-32-1
  • O/U: 26-26-1

After posting their best regular-season campaign in four years (34-48 SU), the Wizards were seemingly presented with an offer they couldn’t refuse this past offseason, as Washington dealt All-Star point-guard Russell Westbrook and a pair of second-rounders in exchange for Montrezl Harrell, Kyle Kuzma, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope prior to the start of this season.

The trade worked out exceptionally well to start, as Washington kicked things off with a sturdy 10-3 SU and 9-4 ATS run, but like other middle-tier squads, the Wizards have been decimated by health issues throughout the year – resulting in their inevitable plummet to 11th in the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 24-29 SU.

The Wizards are 1-8 ATS in their last nine games. (AP)

BROOKLYN NETS VS. WASHINGTON WIZARDS HEAD-TO-HEAD

The Wizards won two-of-three regular-season matchups against Brooklyn last year, with all three of those contests soaring over the total set for Thursday’s affair at a lofty average of 253 PPG. The Nets are 2-0 SU against Washington so far this season though, with the first matchup staying under the total at a score of 104-90 – while the second went over at a score of 119-118.

KEY PLAYERS TO WATCH

  • BKN: Kyrie Irving - PG (23.2 PPG, 4.8 REB, 5.3 AST)
  • BKN: Patty Mills - PG (13.6 PPG, 2.2 REB, 2.5 AST)
  • WSH: Kyle Kuzma - PF (16.1 PPG, 8.7 REB, 2.8 AST)
  • WSH: Montrezl Harrell - C (14.1 PPG, 6.7 REB, 2.1 AST)

BROOKLYN NETS VS. WASHINGTON WIZARDS BETTING CONCLUSION

After extending their losing streak to nine games with an ugly loss to Boston on Tuesday night (L, 126-91), the Nets enter Thursday’s contest as narrow road favorites over the Wizards at Capital One Arena – marking the sixth straight matchup Washington has been an underdog in.

I’ll back Brooklyn here, as the Wizards are 1-3 SU and ATS since Beal’s season-ending injury, while generating just 99.5 PPG offensively during that span – likely presenting another unfavorable matchup against a Nets squad that should benefit significantly from a well-rested Irving following Tuesday’s blowout loss in Boston.

BROOKLYN NETS VS. WASHINGTON WIZARDS BETTING TRENDS

  • The Nets are 0-5 ATS in their last five games.
  • The Wizards are 1-8 ATS in their last nine games.
  • The Nets are 0-9 SU in their last nine games.
  • The Wizards are 2-4 SU in their last six matchups against Brooklyn.
  • The total has gone UNDER in four of the last five matchups between Brooklyn and Washington.
