After finishing fourth in the East with a record of 41-31 SU last year, New York briefly kept that same ball rolling with another solid start to this season, as the Knicks opened with a sturdy 11-9 SU and 9-11 ATS run– which included tough victories over the Sixers (2), Bucks, Hawks, Bulls, and Lakers.

The Knicks have looked like a shell of that squad since mid-November though, considering New York enters Sunday riding a miserable 17-30 SU skid – despite getting tagged as favorites in 18 of those contests.

On the other hand, Brooklyn also barreled out to a strong start to the season, as the Nets kicked things off with an impressive 26-14 SU run – with 15 of those victories coming by eight points or more.

The Nets have been incredibly inconsistent since Kevin Durant’s latest leave of absence though, considering Brooklyn enters Sunday riding a frustrating 5-17 SU skid – while scoring just 110.2 OPPG and allowing 116.9 DPPG during that timeframe. 

I’ll back the Nets here, as despite the absence of Kyrie Irving in Sunday’s matchup, Brooklyn has become a far deeper squad since the trade deadline with supporting cast upgrades that include Seth Curry, Goran Dragic, and Andre Drummond – which should provide enough offensive firepower to take down an ailing Knicks squad.
